Sounds like the drive just needs normal maintenance except for the u-joint. She is a purdy one.

$350 for that canoe???? its a junker.... no way it was the missing canoe....it has a paperwork trail!! post a reply to the los canoe guy with a link to the for sale canoe!! ha ha bob

Seeing that really makes me miss my boat!:blue: I really wouldn't worry too much about the Ford engine, since most stern drive problems seem to originate in the outdrive itself. If you are seriously looking for a 25' Cheif, one area to really look at prior to buying is around where the front cabin corners meet the deck. Found these surprises on mine.




And the last one taken from inside the cabin with daylight visible through deck.

Starcraft 1974 open bow, 165 Merc IO. Runs but motor needs work.

Wonder if Spivy30 is selling his Roamer? No can't be - it burned up. Both of 'em. :facepalm:
