Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

maybe, but i'd go more with Explanation #1. old guys like that have a real tendency to think their **** is worth far more than it is in this world of fleebay and CL. i used to think my Onkyo CD player was worth something....then i bought perfect condition one for $15+ shipping!

Aluminum Boat

It's after 3p, call yet?

Taking just $47.50 + the change in your riding jacket?

I see an aluminum flat back canoe like boat on a kayak rack being towed behind a small displacement motorcycle.....

Add two straps and a DOT sticker, voila - an aerodynamic helmet. Don't need no stinkin' trailer.

Seriously, I'm not so sure it's worth half a C note. Looks to be in sad shape. And where will the seller stash his trash?

You guys need to know I had the wonderful experience of visiting the B2 compound and that sad little boat would fit right in.
And if it is irreparable, Barato has tin snips and that thing would be flashing, patches, washers, cup holders, all things are possible from the genius that is B2

Barato I have a hankering for that lil restaurant we ate down the street!

Save the Lone Star - B2s new battle cry. :)

You guys must have gone to a family run Tex-Mex joint. You can have all the chains, the best Tex-Mex is in the family run little places. Our favorite place was (we moved away) always busy and we were often the only Gringos. I miss the place!

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

bite yer tongue, GA. we don't eat Tex-Mex out here. i can hardly stomach the stuff when i go visit the family in CenTex. the theory seems to be "cover it in enough melted cheddar and they can't tell you don't know how to cook". this is real Mexican food, where they make the tortillas from scratch and roast green chiles daily. the red enchilada sauce does not come from a can but from dried red chiles. and yes, it is a family dynasty...grandma supervises the kids making tortillas. you're all invited if you ever make it down this way.

i went and looked at that poor little thing and decided to pass. it has been shortened.....the keel sticks out past the homemade transom.....and would need not just transom wood (none currently) but a skin too. it is a cute little boat, and really old....40s or before i'd guess....and could look really cool fixed up if it were my only project. but it made the worst of the "before" pix i see on here look not too bad, aside from the ones where there's a tree growing inside.

wait a minute....i thought i was a threat to kill all the old Lone Stars for SC bracing......;)

I used "Tex-Mex" in a very generic way, Mexican food is a far cry from that. But you and Kev were in Texas and you did consume Mexican food, therefore It was Tex-Mex. Unless y'all went across the border to Ciudad Juarez for the real stuff. Ol?

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Here you go guys, perfect big boat barn find.

25 Chieftain IV 1976(?), original condition. $1500 !!

CL ad is useless, but finally got email from the seller, with photos.
Its exactly what I would love, but is really too big for the waters near me, and storage would be difficult..

Yes, it is going to need a going through, and some trail work, tires, etc, but looks to be as close to complete and original as you can get.

Here is the info I have.

""I live in MS, and I am trying to help my mom sell some of dad stuff. Boat is in Casey ILL., just west of Terre Haute Ind. the floor is solid in the boat, it hasnt been used in probably 10 years. They bought the boat when it was 1 year old. it has been stored inside, the tires are dry rotted but will hold air. would not pull it very far with those tires.

If you have any other Questions My Cell # 662 32one two395
Thanks, Brad""

Looks like it has everything, stove, sink, cooler, curtains, swim platform with ladder, Merc drive.

Rats, I don't see how I could pull that one off...

"Hey Jen, we're otta milk, be back in a sec...." won't work here.:grumpy:

Supermarket trip is not good because the ladies know guys hate supermarkets. However, a trip to HD or Menards is good. The ladies know guys can spend days looking for a $3 item, especially in the hardware section.

That Sylvan is a boat to die for. Which would happen if I dragged her home.
