Easy. They wanted to .... er.... Beats the heck outta me. Maybe long to extra long shaft conversion. Or he couldn't get the out ply out or the new ply in. :noidea:

Apparently its taller transom plywood that was put in a year ago.............

The whole transom has been cut down. then the proper height wood was reinstalled. Checked it vs. mine.

Don't know, 64. It looks like the corner tops are raised an inch or two. And if it was pushed all the way down the sides from the corners on down would match. But the motor mounting horizontal is still way too high. I guess he had a plan?

Or are you saying the AL skin has been shortened?

Something strange on that one, look how low the splash well drain holes are, and they are all streaked from water draining.

Nothing unusual there. On my buddy's 21' Chieftain outboard, the transom is that low (or shall I say everything else is that high!). This dude apparently wanted to extend it, as mention possibly for a longer shaft motor or, also as mentioned, the wood just isn't pushed down the rest of the way as the project is clearly not finished. Anyway, it's not cut down, which is good. Some of these bigger hulls really do have ridiculously BIG splashwells on them.

I think the alum has been cut down.

The one for sale - the alum is at the fourth bolt down

On mine the alum is at the 3rd bolt down. I think it's been cut down.

Use the bottom as your reference point. I think it's a taller hull.

ez - Don't think it's a taller hull. I went out and measure mine, did some scaling off the seller photo. I have a 21" transom, the horizontal line of rivets is 8" above the keel. Based on that the hull (alum) was not cut. The seller installed a 25" transom.

You were correct as you are most of the time.:thumb:

ok, i have sc fever  i offered him 300 for it, :loco: lol

Make sure you know Michigan's rules for boats & trailers bought w/ a bill of sale only, before you hand over the cash. Is Michigan a titled boat state? Trailers are often reg/titled thru the DMV while boats are reg/title thru Fish&Wildlife or Div Nat Resources. In WV the DMV does both.

EDIT: Congrats on a pending 2nd rig!

Here's a roll your own. No idea what model, appears to be a later year (late '70s-'80s maybe) with the side gussets. Blank canvas, asking $600.
