On the primer I prolly would not thin it, but, on the Color Coats I'd use a 50/50 mix of acetone and mineral spirits and use 1/2 cup per quart of paint.

So in each quart of paint I use 1/4 cup acetone 1/4 cup mineral spirits and 1 quart paint? How much more coverage will this get me per quart?

mix the Acetone and MS together first and then pour your paint into a half gallon container then pour in the 50/50 mix and stir well. Then apply. The Paint will roll out better, apply easier and you should get about 30% more coverage. Are you using the Hardener in the Color Coats?

Sounds good! I will do that!

No I was not planning on using any hardener. Will using it give it a better finish? What extra steps should I use if I use the Hardener? Do I use the hardener on the white topside coat as well?

No hardener in the primer. ONLY in the finish Color coats. It will give a much more durable finish, a higher gloss and overall much better painted surface. All that's needed is to add the hardener per instructions. (Basically 2oz per quart of paint. Add it after the paint has been thinned and stirred. then stir for a bit and let it "Cook" for 10 mins. Stir some more cook for 10 more mins stir again and cook for a final 10 mins. Then apply the paint) Thats all there is to it.

I don't know what PPE you wear while painting, but you need to glove up & wear a respirator w/ the hardener. Even if you're 'only' measuring & pouring it into paint you'll roll on. You don't want to get it on bare skin or breathe it. It's an isocyonate.

I was planning on buying a tyvek suit from Home Depot. I have respirators but they are the disposable ones that look kind of like a dust mask. Will those work?

The LED lights I bought are battery powered by 4 AA batteries. Is there a way to convert this battery pack to DC power ? The power needs to run through the pack to maintain the customizable ability.

Just be sure that you are buying the filters that are rated for organic vapors, NOT the P100 or N95 filters. those are particulate (dust) filters NOT vapor filters.

Um, 4AA batteries IS DC power. You may just need to step 12V boat DC to what ever 4times the power output of a single AA battery. AND know if there's any resisters, capacitors or other electrical gizmo's between the 4AA battery pack & the string of LED's.

I don't have a AA handy, but I 'think' they're 1.5V each, so that'd be 6V total for 4 AA batteries.

Might try posting over in the electrical forum, because there may be current draw, mAmps & etc that are beyond my scope of limited electrical knowledge. Esp since you need to keep the battery pack intact as part of the system.
