All good. Got up to about 33mph

Too bad we can't hear the motor. What Rpm did she reach?

I need to get a tach. It felt like it never completely wound up.
It ran really smooth, but it sounded like it still had more it could go.
Not that it felt struggling at all, just that it still had more to give.

Well few of us have Oscilloscope ears, and that is why a tach is the most important gauge you can ever have on a boat

The 7000 Faria Tach should be here Monday.
I checked the current prop on the Johnson. It has a 13.25x17.
My Suzuki has a 13.5x15.
It has the same splines.
I'll see where both props put me for RPMs at WOT and post back.

Having the same Splines, doesn't mean it is going to fit properly.

In another thread I posted that my timing was way too retarded.
I used the "Joe Reeves" method and set the timing at 23 degrees BTDC. It was somewhere around 18.

I installed a tach and took it out today. WOT puts me at around 5300 rpm.

Here she is running at 38mph, 5400 RPM WOT on a 1967 18-foot StarCraft Holiday with 3- 200 pound guys and our ice chest and gear.

Near Astoria Oregon on the Skipanon River.

I struggled with getting the trim correct. And you can see I was porpoising some at the end.
