Crap! Looks like I'm back to checking this thread daily! This is better than a soap opera. No doubt you will win, CB. Sucks that this is taking up your time though. I would definitely try to get something back out of them when you win.

Re: sold a boat and it busted!

since it has been escalated further by this POS, i really hope you can now counter sue for him wasting your time and get all your costs back. friggin idiot sum biatch.

like most people here, had i bought a boat and had it blow i would have been blaming myself for not checking it out thoroughly, or for being a idiot and over-revving a old motor like this kid!

and yeah keep the updates coming, this stuff is great reading!

This should be interesting. I'm not as freeked out as I was the first time. I can't share my attorney's advice until things play out at which time I will post his advice, our strategy and the outcome...........

Re: sold a boat and it busted!

okay gotta admit I've gotten to feel kinda competetive in this forum (read maybe 'attention wh#re'?), this is the second most visited thread besides one of those "show yer boat threads"

Almost 12 thousand hits! I never would have imagined that this saga would hit home to so many. I really just started it because I didn't know what the right thing to do was.

Beers on me if, (WHEN!) I win!

With that note, I'm in!

CB, you been right all along. Your lawyer should be seeing this as an opportunity to bust that mom's arse along with the kid. It'd be worth it to see what their job history is like. Other than making a living taking up the court's time that is.

Gonna close now before I say everything that's already been said. You're right, they're wrong. End of story. Turn the lawyer loose on them.

Don't forget to ask your attorney about being reimbursed by those idiots for wasting your time and money. There are often motions filed that the judge will grant when the judgement goes your way to save your the burden of proving your innocence.

Good luck.

PS, send the beer to.... :D:D:D

I had something like this happen to me once too-have a look here if you wanna read what happened:-

It sucks. Go mess her life up with a suit for harrassment. Maybe then she'll realise how much she's messing yours up and leave people alone. Experience is a good teacher.

I was in the sports bar part of La Hacienda last night.

I think the free legal education I am getting here, I am the one that owes you a beer!

So where do you boat? I am thinking of sneaking over to Center Hill today for at least one more run this season.

Re: sold a boat and it busted!

I finally took a moment to read this thread for the first time last night, and wow! I've heard of junk like this before in my area of NE TN, but this is just silly. I know there are plenty of people with their hand out in the world, but we have more than our fair share down here in the mountains. I'm totally on your side, CB, and I agree with most everybody here. You owe him nothing, and you'll win hands down. I would try to recoup my legal fees and lost time monies form this clown, though. Good luck and keep us posted.

PS...I am more than willing to drive the 6 hours to Nashvegas for free beer. But, I'll reciprocate whenever you want to come up and and boat on South Holston for the weekend....if there is a South Holston left after this drought.

Our boat is in a slip at Elm Hill Marina (Percy Priest Lake).

I'll be at La Ha tomorrow night with a group. Just stand up and yell "I'm Sickwilly, who here is Country Bumpkin!?" :D Two for one pints on tap, and they have some great flavors too!

Great fall day to be on the lake! Awesome! (and I'm home cutting the lawn and putting up drywall! :()

Well I bet you anything he young lad over reved that motor. It wasent knocking when you had him out in it , you didnt cover anything up about the motor, its sadly, on him.

Just about any time a rod goes after the motor was running fine means just that.

As IS is exactly what it is. Redneck or not we all know what AS-IS Means.

Re: sold a boat and it busted!

scrapped Center Hill and launched out of Elm Hill today and had a nice time. The kids, dog and I all got in, but the wife wouldn't touch the 79 degree water.

I almost joined that boat club there before buying my slightly used Stingray. I have gone out of Elm Hill the last two weekends, but typically go out to Tim's Ford or Center Hill.

We will have to hook up for a beer or on the lake some times.

Make sure you include me then as I'm in Murfreesboro and launch out of Fate Sanders on JPP usually :D

I dont want to alarm anyone, but legally, you have a certain amount of hours, and I had thought it was 24, whereas if you purchase a used mechanical device, and it breaks down in that time frame, it is still the seller's responsibility.

I am trying to research it now.
