Nice day today. Sunny and comfortable temp.

Got a little done at the daughter's new digs. Installed 3 frost free hydrants, bedded one about 50' and only partially bedded the other 2 with pea gravel and some dirt on top of filter fabric.

Also bedded about 100' of electrical conduit in sand.

Now it's about time to rest up until tomorrow.

I need to escape and go fishing or hunting for a while.

You will love a new boat...those candias are battering rams. Well built and solid but the new designs handle so much better.

It was a calm an quiet day for me, watched the race, then put my brand new semi custom boat cover on my Starcraft, which I am amazed with for the price I paid, that darn cover is thick, waterproof and fits perfect. I never thought I would get a cover of this quality for less than a $100 bucks!

Event:Lakeshore Flood Watch
Alert:
...Potential Lakeshore Flooding from Large Waves Tonight and Wednesday... .Strong northeast winds will develop over western Lake Superior tonight into Wednesday afternoon with the potential for powerful storm- force wind gusts to 50 knots. These winds will cause large waves over western Lake Superior that will crash on the shoreline with waves of 12 to 16 feet. The waves could be big enough to cause damage to the shoreline. The water level of Lake Superior is quite high, making the shoreline more prone to getting damage from waves. ...LAKESHORE FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON... * LAKE SHORE FLOODING...Areas of the North and South Shores of western Lake Superior, including Two Harbors, the Duluth and Superior areas, and Ashland. * TIMING...This evening through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Damage is possible to shoreline infrastructure, such as to harbors, beaches, lake walkways, and roads near the shore.
Instructions:A Lakeshore Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for lakeshore flooding are expected to develop. Residents on or near the shore should take action to protect property...and listen for later statements or warnings.
Target Area:
Ashland
Bayfield
Douglas

Can remember one of Uncles made a comment: "They design Lakes so they are safe. They never flood; and you don't have to worry about waves. My Dad looked at him; shook his head; got up and walked out of the room. I asked him about it later. He said "I can't believe my Brother ix so stupid"! I was Six then.
