It has a good Hull a Great Trailer...no motor so that is easy......because I started reading how to rebuild a boat on Iboats and figure why not I am handy.....I think it could be a kewl boat and for sure different and finally......best I can tell no one on this board or anywhere else I have been able to find has turned a sailboat into a fishing boat.....so it will be a One of a Kind......I get to be the first ummm good or bad

Ok how about been sitting for 15 years. Gas tank shot. Engine has piston melted down and gel coat feels more like sandpaper.

But I'll bet she (was) fast! I think that one gets negative marks...like the owner should pay YOU to push it farther into the weeds!

Rating: "UNWORTHY" :(

Awwww....c'mon now. That'll buff up to a nice shine! Throw a couple of OMC Stringers in there and she will be good to go!

Or...it will make a nice bonfire! I will bring the S'mores!

I purpose adding a option 7 to the list.

7: Because the owner is crazy and picked it up cheap.

I that case my Lumbering Oaf has 1 (good hull bad stringers  ) 2,4,6, and 7

Rating: "WORTHY...in spite of the fact it is a Bayliner" ;)

Sorry cant pay myself. Owned this one for twenty plus years. On the bottle she would fly. Thats how she got to her current state of dis-pare. Still collecting information for this one. Make that courage and cash.

Come on YD you know all boats are a great big hole in the water men throw obscene amounts of money in trying desperately to fill only to find they are like bottomless pits.

Ill take two of them maybe there will be enough parts to make 1/2 one.

Sorry doc...this one may be flatlined. Unless...it falls into category #5...sentimental value. Then you get #1 & #5, so...rating changed to "WORTHY". :)

Somebody should really just give him a match to put her out of her misery.

Infideltarget, I hereby nominate you for the title "Worthiness Czar" where you are the ultimate judge over this post.

Re: Rules for: Is this boat worthy of a restoration project?

infideltarget I think you are doing a great job with your ratings.

I will get you the check for rating the Oaf as worthy :D

OK I will play along too.
1983 Deck Boat : WORTHY I like the deck boats much better then pontoon boats and it NEVER hurts if the wife likes your project.

proshadetree bayliner : WORTHY $700 WOW I would buy that boat all day long. It looks like it in in good overall shape. That interior is still very useable. Put the floors, stringers, and whatever else it needs and run it til the prop falls off.

Betterthannothin 1987 Sea Nymph :  Not Worthy just drop it by my place and I will make sure it is disposed of properly ;) . ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! That is a sweet little boat. I can see a lot of Flounder and Red Drum going in that boat.

Navigator_Victory : WORTHY Nice little sail boat. I love the creativity turning it into a fishing boat. Half the fun of fixing something up, is making it your own.

boaterinsd 72 Larson : WORTHY Will make a great run about for the family. That seat up in the bow says Bass fishing to me.

proshadetree Jet boat : WORTHY No Fair 2 project boats? I don't see any holes in the hull and it looks like fun. Picture 454, Tunnel Ram, and Zoomies :D

fishrdan Wooden Hulk Boat : Maybe Not. But I have seen worse be hauled out and restored. Big Wooden Boat is one example. He had major holes in the hull and fixed her up anyway.

Re: Rules for: Is this boat worthy of a restoration project?

Baylinner was in boxes when I bought it All my stuff is an eternal project. Last pic was a year of work to get there. Need to do a lot more but I bought a 25 foot century and the water is just too much fun. So I have 3 project boats Im greedy. I also have 5 project cars and trucks not counting what I drive.

Re: Rules for: Is this boat worthy of a restoration project?

I picked up my resto about a year and a half ago. Up side it had #1, #2 and #4. Downside was I bought it before reading about restorations here on iBoats and paid too much for it in retrospect. But I didn't let that bother me and went for it. I am glad I did.
