llAnyway the work under the cuddy was the worst of it. All stringers got 2x glass, plus seal and fill; They ended up like this;

bulkhead template...main concern was bottom and odd shaped side. Height I can always cut down later.

But here was a real area that tried to trick me out. Couldn't post pics so I had to work this out myself and hope for the best. I gathered alot of info from the site.
The two out stringers under the cuddy prohibited me from accessing/glassing in the bulkheads. So I cut out the glassed stringer areas, saved them for later and put in the bulkheads. Then I made two blocks 1 for each stringer that I cut open. They got sealed and glassed. Then pb/screwed them in, inserted the pc. I cut out prior then placed a "sister" stringer to that, pb, fillet, and glassed over all again with more tabbing. For the short center stringers I attached with pb and screws to make a butt joint on both sides, fillet, glassed and tabbed also;



To the left and right side stringers you can see the openings I had to make for the future bulkheads.





Guess I have to load some more picks of how I solved this issue in photobucket.

So those side bulkheads with the openings went like this;


That board you just saw was fitted, and pb was applied then screwed tight from the existing stringer


the glassed board that was cut out was replaced and bp, screwed and installed








then wet out x2, both sides the same. So the 3/4 went to 2.25 with the sister/butt joint.


Outside temps were getting questionable but all turned out okiedokie;



Butt joints on center stringers also and all fillet and glassed,


Added vinyl strips to sides of all stringers to bring them to level. Filled with PB and was actually quite happy!



You can see the varying heights;


Here a good view of the vinyl strips. They came from HD for @ 2.00 per 8' pc. What also nice they contoured the changes of shape. I secured them with screws to be removed and filled in later;




It was getting dark, the PB was setting up so I took off the stripping. Sorry bout the pics red lights not so good but I'll get better ones. Was smooth as glass and level across the deck!!

Wow, looking good KC. Soooo much work! If I put that much work into a boat, it would never see a drop of water again! lol. Those cuddy stringers seemed to fit pretty good.

Thanks Mike!! It was really driving me out of my mind that I couldn't gets those pics up sooner. But the work is really worth it. All your guys Support will make this ole Gal float again.

Hello... Just some quick updates.. Reinforced internal stucture by adding a " ridge" inside the boat/cover
Now has 4 tarps and 1 full overlay tarp.

Boat work, materials, other life dings... This boat sure does have me upside down
But love the pain.

Mr Sphelps;Dinner anytime and you are more than invited.

Thanks for stopping by. Worked this weekend putting a "ridge" inside my boat to support the weather coming. Then lopped over a full new tarp to cover. Going to do some glassing in the cold with my lamps and heaters. Does get warm in there but is dark so I'll add some more regular lights. Pics soon.
Tonight I cut out some more glass and fitted. Let them sit and I'll do them later. They were toughies..little compound curves around tight space bulkheads up front.

Have you tried just attaching them as full size? With the update they allow them to go straight into the post. I just did it on my thread about barnacle removal. Maybe that was a one time I had good luck thing.

Well no, decided to dump all my pics into a new photo_ucket acct. I have way too many pics in there that I have to organise into related folders. But thanks for the heads up. Whats weird is they were there 1 day or more then I went back and there gone? Whateva!

The boat came with no windshield. I've been searching around quite a bit. Like a drug addict to locate a used one. Too many odd variables. 4 pc. window for cuddy is hard to find much less fit. That being said in addition I want to {in my dream state of mind} make this a pilot house enclosure, front windows, sides, roof etc....
Now the boat did come with an aluminum "T" top. Pretty serious fixture. I went to a canvas shop and they recommended that I at least have the front windshield in place in order to complet a canvas sides enclosure and that I need to put a roof on her prior. The owner said a canvas roof would not due as the way the aluminum is made. Ok..ok... I almost bought bought blueprints to mimic a wood windshield that I may or may not build then do the canvas sides, as well as me building the hardtop roof.
So that's my dilema..?! To ENCLOSE OR NOT TO ENCLOSE AND DO I MAINTAIN THE ALUMINUM STRUCTURE FOR MY BUILDING/FRAME BASE?? Or delete the aluminum frame and start at square 1.?

And no the yard does not look like that. It was a big messy day as you can see. In addition I added wood rib to whale bones and a full cover 4th tarp for some cold work. Had temps at 38 last night but got the boat to 90 degrees with propane heater and heat lamps focused on specific work areas.

Well Kc what I would do is probably use the aluminum support structure and go from there. But that is just me. Alot to think about.Hmmm....

I think using the allum frame work that's there is the way to go ... A light weight composite type material would be nice if there is such thing ... Was thinking starboard but that stuff's kinda heavy ..
Maybe you could make a mold somehow and fiberglass it then add some aluminum angle or tubing for support across the middle . Just stinking out load ..
