Over the last few days baring rain outs I've been prepping and installing all the little bulheads and then prepping for glass. Good day, trying to beat the late afternoon storm so I gots a goods jump on it;

Used a nice sharp blade to cut off the overhang to some degree. Will use the multi-tool to finish it flush.
On a SPOOKY note....sat the tank in the coffin for a looksy... Oh meoh my... Getten close says I!:joyous:

No foam to button it up. Just Neoprene at 3/8" dickness. No coating on tank. Going Au Natureal. Lots of discussions on this topic but I'm going this route. As long as I have true air circ. the aluminum should make it's own protective finish. It's an old tank so I will also make a hatch for future replacement. Budget city.. but groovin along!

nurseman AND sphelps ...Thanks for swinging by.:joyous: Took some meas. this morning the neopren in the sides of the coffin lock the tank in tight...Nice. On the front to back I'm packing it out @ 1.5" then neoprene and the deed will be done. Still need to dril out for some wiring, bilge work then some bilge paint.

I like and totally agree with your decision to mount the fuel tank completely naked. Well...the tank's naked, not you. At some point you have to decide what's best for your particular build, then commit to it. Things are progressing nicely! Carry on.

I think naked is a GREAT word Mikeopsycho . So I installed the other to new bulkheads to enable me to place the new/old tank.
I also used any left over PB to seal anything I dink might be an issue.

Sealed the wood prior...all edges etc. Now it's time to get the grill going after my shower. Picked up l5 lbs of Alaskan crabs and other goodies. Got real lucky this weekend with no rain. I'll remove the screws later then pb all holes prior to glassing. Also need to overdrill the transom for the motor mnt and fill w/pb.

Aaah yes you will. Yup a tank it is going to be. So Today went in and pulled out the screws. Then filled w/Pb. Saw some of the filets were a little less than what I want so I refilled them to spec. Not much more to say.
Oh yea... the better hals told me to clean up around the boat. I concur.
