I did some non skid with the soft rubber medium today.Weather was tricky but I snuck by. Yapped with Mike, @ woodonglass about alot of approaches and suggestions. He always has great insights. Unlike zool
who's busy tending his grapes.
I have to say the soft rubber medium is a good for me. 1st time doing it and I'm happy. Took the paint and came out nice
1st shot makes me happy.

No Eric,
No its not. But you can do that method
. This applying the skid into multiple areas,
I decided awhile back after all my looks that I wanted this method.

I really like how the rubber stuff turned out ! I’ll be exploring options for the Manatee at some point ..
Im sure you’ll hav 2 or 3 years of use on your deck before I’m ready so you can report back on how it holds up ..

Chipping away with the soft sand anti skit product. Very easy to work with and make small repairs. Here's how I did this part.

Tape out and do radius corners. I found that it needs to be done in quadrants. Too much area to do at once. If mixed into
paint then yup apply all at once. I used a broadcast method. {wife's cinnamon/sugar shaker...oopps.**

Soft sand area and wipe with acetone.
Apply paint using 3/8 nap roller. Adds a build up of paint.
Broadcast product over paint.
Let it set for a few minutes.
Then take a sponge roller and go gently over the particles that helps push them into the paint.
Walk away for an hour.

Use a vacuum to pull up the loose particles. Be careful not to let the vacuum pull you into the paint. It's still wet. If it does and you bugger a spot you can add more rubber at the end to fix it. I had a couple of spots that needed attention.

Now roll again with a 3/8 nap roller. Walk away for an hour or so.

Then come back and pull tape off at a 45 angle away from sand.

looking mighty fine Mr. Kevin. I have a can of that waiting for me when I get back at my project. I am working at getting all of my extemporaneous projects done this fall so I can hopefully put her back into the shop and get into it again. Daughters tree house, wife's sewing table/workstation, camper, :blah::blah::blah:

I like the texture. Uses a lot. those areas took to bags 16 0z. ea. @$28.00 ea. I does feel like a rubber and not like a sand.
Time consuming for tapping but I like the look.

And onto the next great adventure. Looking for ideas on side mount foldable seats up front. I have some ideas in me mind but if someone has ideas or seen something let me know. Pics would help. :joyous:
Oh yea ...has to be teak. I'm looking shower stall seats in teak. They work.
