Back in the day we kept receipts when we bought gas at the marina.-----Got a refund for the road taxes paid on it.
That's a good deal for folks in States that it can be done. KY only allows Marina's to do it. Go figure, they sell it for 1.50 to 2.00 more and still get to get the road tax back , love it, NOT

Our tank rent is $1/yr. But we're spending over $1k of propane/yr. Could get real ugly this winter...
was buying 1200 GALLONS of propane a year at the old house. Had a 500 and a 1000 gallon tank and filled them once a year, in June.

New house is natural gas, $670 for this winter.

Here in Pennsylvania they use a formula to figure how much gas was bought by boaters. That amount is transferred from the DOT general fund to the Fish & Boat Commission boat fund. The monies are used for boating safety education, aids to navigation, boat law enforcement, access and launch facilities, etc.

On gas in general, we all complain about the higher prices BUT we still do the things we do with our cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats to some extent. One of my vehicles only gets premium (and ethanol-free now that its easier to find) I've only driven it twice in the last year or so. My new toy, Riff Raft, will be filled at gas stations before launching so I won't have to pay the even higher marina prices. The lakes around here can be run on a fill-up unless you ski a lot, me, I'll cruise some, tie up under a bridge and fish some

Was just thinking (yeah, a dangerous sport here) Riff Raft came with a 12 gallon "portable" tank but it doesn't really fit in the spot made for it. Later down the road I'll likely get two smaller tanks and fit one under a rear bench seat I intend to get

$5.49 for REC fuel yesterday. WTH! It's what I burn in this 502 Ford Mustang engine that's in this boat and it runs great. High test is cheaper but still has corn in it. Maybe I should be using that?
