.... Glad I switched over to a four stroke outboard from that old mercruiser 165 I had. That thing liked gas.....
Technically true but the Mercruiser was a 1978, carburetor engine that may have been 4 stroke, but was far from fuel efficient. plus the engine and outdrive itself added considerable more weight. I saw a noticeable difference in fuel efficiency with the new setup, very noticeable.
They are both 4 stroke engines and will both burn about 0.4#/hr/hp... You went from one 4 stroke to.... another 4 stroke.
Chris.....
Exactly!Propaganda….they sell fuel by the Liter and in Russian Rubles…not to mention most vehicles are diesel.
Currently 1 Ruble is worth 0.0075 cents USD
It appears to be by design. That's what makes it infuriating. No matter what the measurement is, a screwing is a screwing no matter what country you live in.
If I drive 15 miles one way our 92 rec is 4.89 as of today. In another month we will fill up 4 5gal containers for chainsaws, motorcycles, and boat. Fishing starts then and I only burn less than 10 gallons all year in the boat.Non-ethanol 92 octane = $6 per gallon. Oregon City OR.
92 octane you can pump directly into your classic car/truck. 87 octane you can't. It's only legal for recreational and tools.
