Any idea where the wire hook to? I already downloaded a few diagrams, but nothing I can find is the exact style. I was really looking for some up close photos.

Black and green with white stripe goes to the trim pump.

I have pulled the Rochester carb off and tried to clean it the best I could without buying a rebuild kit. Maybe once I have the engine pulled I might do that. There is absolutly no fuel getting to the carb from the manual pump, that may be the next thing I pull off. I might do that today if time allows it. I will need to pick up a fuel line and primer pump so I can run the engine off my outboard tank. I don't want to chance running the fuel in the tank, who knows what is in there!!!

The Trim pump seems to have a bad selenoid or just too much rust on the connections to work. Crazy how rusty boats can get being left out in the weather.

Hose clamps and 2 bolts is all there is to a mechanical fuel pump removal and the rod inside that runs on the cam.

It's not the removal from the engine block, but the actual rebuild on the pump. I have had the one from my old Volvo AQ130 apart and it is not that complicated. Although I did not manage to get that one working. Or maybe I did not prime it right. I did pick up some fuel line and a couple in line hand fuel pumps to make sure the fuel gets in there. I may decide to test it before I take it off.

Never have rebuilt a mechanical fuel pump, always have bought new.

I hooked up a hand pump to prime the fuel pump and it seemed to work, engine started and ran for about a minute. Did this consecutive times, but the carb idle will not keep the engine running. This really seems like a carb problem. Now that all is checked out I will try to find some time to get the engine pulled out of the old Glasser.

After a crazy busy summer, I was able to get some time and remove the plastic fuel tank from the old glasser. A couple hours of cutting up the center of the floor and chipping away the foam that was holding the tank in, out it came. Pumped out the 35 litres of fuel (Just over 9 gallons for all you USA boaters) Wow was it dirty on the outside! Cleaned it all off and its ready to be put in the Starcraft. I will post some pics once I figure out something other than photobucket.

Here is another photo with the primer bulb I used to pump out all the old fuel. Good to build up the forearm grip!

I will hopefully get the tank placed today to check the fit. Then move on to pulling the leg off the old boat.

An update on the old Volvo engine: I decided to part with it and sold it to a guy that needed the parts. Did not take that long. Still have the 270 leg to get rid of.

I also had to move the Islander back under the carport. Ran out of room in the shop. My business has grown over the summer and has taken over the space the Islander was sitting in. Not that happy about it, but it was necessary.

I order a boat cover from Amazon for a 22ft boat. It showed up already and was put on. Only issue is that the cover is not wide enough and leaves some of the side windows exposed. I will try and make it work.

The pics aren't showing on my end, just a big minus symbol.

On the fuel tank I think it's aluminum so be sure to pressure test it prior to using. I would also suggest getting everything off it to where's it's spotless clean. Personally I would prime and put down a nice thick coat of paint on it too. My tank from Moeller came with a heavy coat of coal tar epoxy on it for protection.

It's a poly tank, cleaned for about an hour. Close to as good as it's going to get. Placed it in the Islander and it's about 10 inches to long, but width and height are good. It might fit depending how deep the engine sits.
Photos are showing on my end even when I do not log into my account. strange.

Yes, it seems now the pics for some reason do not show at all. It should be easier to post photos, seems like a lot of wasted time.
