I been welding on my scratch built cab. Finishing welding that was never finished. Got a nifty new MiG welder for all of $150 with tax. Welds not pretty because of me. Getting used to the trigger on this one. Different than my old one. But they get ground down anyway

New Mustang top was supposed to be here a week ago, but I guess they're running behind and having some supply woes. If it's too late I may leave the old rag on all summer.

I did replace some cosmetic pieces on the exterior, and I've got the new fuel sender sitting in the garage.

Got a couple of kids to help move this month before I get too deep into the car though.

So the closet project is progressing. So far I have generated 18 bags of sawdust, each weighing about 35# taking the rough-cut 4/4 lumber down to smooth on both ends. currently at .963" and will probably size them to .938"

Hickory is extremely hard on planer blades. so in addition to saw dust, I have completely dulled a set of blades (both edges) will be swapping blades tonight.

regarding the Fiat project. been reaching out to some of the hot-rod and LS forums on cam suggestion. received 22 different cam suggestions.

so I took the more promising ones and did what any red-neck engineer would do. dumped them into Dyno 2000, verified the correlation with many of Richard Holdeners cam dyno videos.

and plotted them out

so the choice looks to be Texas Speed Magic Stick 3 or the Comp XR281HR.

at 2000-2200#, I do not need much of a bottom end as the car originally came with 16hp.

I'm halfway through doing about 1200 sq ft of hickory flooring, can vouch for the blades getting dull. On my second miter saw blade so far...

At least it will hold up well.

reminder to get new miter saw and table saw blades

The admiral said......"why does it have to be hickory?"......." I would have been OK with pine" "i mean we are just going to stain it"

my response was "because hickory is 3 times stronger than pine and you overload the metal shelving in the closet now...."

I use the Diablo 80 tooth ones for both seems to do pretty good cost vs performance. I paid $35 for my table saw at a yard sale, its funny to pay more for the blade
