Prestancia electrical problem

Hi,
I just purchased a 1989 Prestancia 30ft. While cleaning/inspecting, I found the terminal strip (located behind the aft closet and shower area) melted at a few connectors (see photo).

It looks like the problem started at the "Outlet Port" which I assume was caused by too much current. My first thought is to just replace the Terminal Block with a new one (and inspect the wires of course). Any other thoughts or things I should check?

Thanks.
David.

Make sure you check it for shorts. Also if you are in the water fix it as soon as possible, I had a AMP in my boat that shorted out and then ate the drives up from the galvonic corrosion caused by the short.

I would also check the circuit breaker for this circuit to make sure it is functioning properly. I have the same boat and had the exact same problem although mine was not quite that bad and I was able to move circuits 3 through 5 down to terminals 5 through 7 and not have to replace the terminal strip. Looks like it may be a problem area that needs to be checked regularly.

Isn't it fun getting in there to work on this

Also make sure the other terminals are tight while you are in there. A loose connection at the terminal would cause this.
