Hey guys! Just got my first fiberglass boat, which is also my first boat with a steering wheel! She floats and the motor runs well, and I got her for $400
I'm already gathering parts for a lower unit rebuild as well as carb and fuel pump rebuild this winter. I plan to do a mild restoration to this old girl, keeping as close to factory looks as possible. I'm not going for a show boat, but more of a "seasoned" classic survivor. A 20/20 boat so to say. She'll be needing a new transom within the next few years as well. I'm gonna start with new swivel folding seats and floor next year along with paint above the rub rail after filling all the open screw holes. Looking forward to this project as this is my first restoration, should be a lot of fun!
Anyways, She's a 1965 Starcraft Siren 14' with a 1965 Kiekhaefer Merc 350 35 HP. I don't see many examples of this particular model or engine around. With some fresh paint and a new wraparound cowl, that motor will look awesome!
