Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

it?s an 18 American

I don't have a picture of my Starcraft American 16 yet, I just purchased it and didn't uncover it this weekend. It is yellow and has been a garage baby most of its life. I think it is about a 1970-75 and in almost pristine condition. The only flaw is the logo on the right side of the boat which is a plastic raised logo in black which says "Starcraft" with the sylized "s" following it. It is approximately 12 inches long. Any idea where I might find one?

Mine 1972 still running, just finished the second refurb on it. 1996 115 V4 Johnson, Outriggers, downriggers, use it for live bait trolling off the east coast of Florida

That's sweet looking. How big is that?

I just got a 2005 16 DLX, a side console, it's on page 33 of these posts, #805. I'm working on it now, since the summer is pretty slow here in Central Florida (I'm also on the East Coast). Being a lower profile than that, it fits in my garage and it's really easy to spend a day on it.

It only really needs deck paint, but I'm making more fishable to my wife's and my tastes. Added more rod holders, fixed a seat post that was stuck, added guide-ons to the the trailer... little stuff like that.

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

It's a Mariner 21, I am shopping for a galvanized or aluminum trailer now, the one under it is painted steel and won't last much longer.

I originally bought this boat in 1988 in Daytona, for $150, I took it back up to Savannah, GA completely refurbed it, fished off the coast of Georgia with it until 1997, gave it away. I got it back two years ago.

I am the second owner of this boat, it was bought new in Tennesee in 1972, I bought it in 1988 from the guy who moved down to Daytona from Tennesse. I gave it to my father-in-law who took it up to Ohio and fished it on Lake Erie up until about five years ago, his health kept him from using it, so he gave it back to me, but he had put new power on it. Actually the boat is now in my wife's name, I was overseas when she was visiting Ohio and changed the title over. I plan on running it for quite a few more years.

I forgot something else funny in my reply post, despite this boat having been in Florida for a total of 6 or 7 years, it has only been in the water in Florida once!

That was the shakedown cruise I just took it out on in Lake Monroe

That's a cool story. The boat has been in the family for 24 years.

I got this one after looking around for most of last September through November. Brought it home the first weekend in December, and I think I've had it out on the water only four times.

I'm down the coast from you on the Indian River, near Melbourne.

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Thats the thing with an aluminum boat, with a bit of care, they last forever! I intend to use this one quite a bit(said with fingers crossed).
It will operate very economically. It will be a bit crowded with dive gear, but I'll live with that. The boat I had when I moved here was a Sportcraft Fishmaster, twin 225's, walkaround, hardtop, freshwater washdown, etc. $400-$500 for a day trip of fishing or diving, that was out of the "I had fun today" range

You are in a great place down there, I fish out of Canaveral a bit, I have some real good numbers for there, I also go down to Sebastian for snook season.

I notice you have Montanna in your username, are you originally from there?
