Toeboater, welcome to the Starcraft fleet. That Holiday is in great condition and it has one of the best splashwell designs that Starcraft made in my opinion.:)

I cant believe how good of shape the floor and transome are in for a boat almost ten years older then me and the 75hp stinger moves her about 29mph (non gps). Its a blast first boat ever.

You should be able to do better than that. I'd think 35 minimum. Hopefully you're not waterlogged. What's your wide open throttle RPM?

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Im still to hook up a tach i think i may need a different prop the one on it is a 17 it had a 19 and was a complete dog. I know my foam is pretty wet I wanna get to it before it rots anything i have checked the stringers and the transome in a few spots and all the shaving were dry and solid im gonna tear out the foam do you know if the foam is structal (do i need to replace). I might be going faster then 29. I wont know till i get a GPS. I pops right up on plane and runs really good and is a super fishing platform.

Here is a picture of my 1976 Starcraft Super Sport 16' It has a 1974 Johnson 70 hp motor on it. This is the picture I took from the guy's yard I bought it from. Got all his equipment in the deal. Used it all last summer. Needs work, but it is pretty solid.

The guy I bought it from fliped it off the trailer in a ditch. Has some cosmetic scrapes. Found a newer cowl on ebay and painted the trailer so far. I replaced two of the three coils and am going to have a professional look at the motor for me this spring.

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Hi All,
I'm new to iboats my name is Jaysen,
Here is a photo of my 16' SS (I think) cant remember the year mid 80's if i remember correctly. I got it last spring, boat, motor (85 hp evinrude) and trailer for $000 :). I knew the owner and kept asking if i could have it, he kept telling me $500, so I kept saying I'll wait till it's in his way more, he finally called and said come haul it off. I put the muffs on it and ran it in the yard that day. and put it in the water 2 days later.
The 85 quit on me but I had a 88hp Johnson of similar vintage, also a freebie, ( I love craigslist) That i put on and ran for the rest of the season.

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

I'll see what I can come up with for pics, I don't have a ton of them.
This is my first Starcraft, but my family has had several of them, so I seem to be drawn to them.
The first boat we ever had was a 60's 14' Jet with a 1964 33 1/2 Johnson. We would pile My parents, 2 younger brothers 2 tanks of gas a cooler, myself, and oh yeah, the dog into that little boat and go all day in it. Those were the days lol :)
The next rig was yet another freebie, a 80's 14' Deep V, oh yeah we were stylin, I put a 1986 Evinrude VRO 40, that I Got from the dump, it had a bad shaft from the power head to the lower unit, I stole one from eBay for $50 dollars and fixed it myself.
After that we got a near perfect 1987 15' Corson (still have it), and also my Dad got a 15' Sweet-water pontoon boat (also still have), and after that I got my very own SS. We keep the armada down on Sebego lake in Maine.
As you can see, we like boats, a LOT :), my Dad wants to sell both of his and get an Islander, or Chieftain O.B. at some point.
So that's my boating history, By the way my two kids like boating, and my wife tolerates it, due to my thrifty nature. (I'm an epic scrounger:rolleyes:)

My old 1973 18 mariner and current 1987 22 footer.
Love the starcrafts. Interior room is amazing compared to fiberglass boats of the same size.

Nice, your 22'er's hull looks very similiar to my '79 22' SS V5, same engine as well. What kind of speeds do you see and how big of seas have you had it out in? Do you have more pics of the 22'?

Welcome!

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

With the 140 HP it usually tops out at 5300 RPM and 30-32 MPH. I am usually in Long Island sound and have never taken a wave over that big bow. Probably been out in 4 foot waves.Tends to be a wet ride in any signifigant wind.Mine is not a V5 hull.It doesn;t have those 2 long strakes up to the bow below the waterline.
I just joined this site but I think I will be here alot!!
I will put more pics during the week.
