Sorry guys this one is going to move slow for the next month or so.....have a few other things I have to finish up before winter gets here. I'm ready to get going......but need to get a few things squared away first.

You can take your time, you got Miss Morgan to 'putt' around in until it gets too cold and you can focus on the barge mods!

lol, I need to do a few things to her this winter too.

Opps, I'm open to suggestions.....I have a lot of ideas on the bar, just need to get some time to put them on paper / CAD and work through them. I'm hoping to get the "bones" drawn up in CAD so I can put some of this stuff that is in my head into a drawing I can post!

If you get the measurements, I would be happy to put them into CAD as I just play on the net all day instead of work anyways.

Hey thanks for the offer! Not to many people offer to do free drafting :D. But I think I need to draw it, that will help me to get my mind around it.....make me think about the details. I did a little more demo this afternoon after I worked on my yard chores. I stripped the console and scraped that goopy black seam sealer crap off the cross members. I'm hoping to get a little more time on her tonight while I'm listening to the game.

I have been looking for a toon to turn into an electric drive with doubles, hard top with solar array. Bar and yes a stripper pole! Side mount storage box for an inflatable water slide that inflates like an emergency life raft. there is a manufacturer that uses electricity to drive a paddle wheel on a toon. but it takes up too much room for me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thl3i...eature=related This should get your creative juices flowing!

Cool video on the "expandable pontoon". That is similar to what I'm thinking of, but the pontoons won't expand out, just the seats. I may have to counter weight the opposite side. I might put the batteries on the opposite side, and or maybe the fuel tank.

I saw a boat like that a few years ago on the inet somewhere....but I don't think it was a pontoon. Sounds like an expensive project. I'm assuming it will have a lot of batteries? Sounds like it could get pretty heavy.

By the way, anyone have an idea what the 45 merc is worth. It runs, I'm thinking I need to put some more HP behind the boat.....15 MPH is going to make me batty after being spoiled by Miss Morgan with the tower on the back, lol!

Re: Pontoon rebuild / redesign

you can get a good older 45 for 500 bux. a great one for 1500. just look for an older junk boat.

we have a 150 merc on the house boat im working on. that big old houseboat really flies.....by my tach......(on my boat) it was doing 14 mph.....still displacing.....but really moving. a little kid could have waterskied behind it.

Re: Pontoon rebuild / redesign

Well I'm thinking about selling the 45 to free up some cash to make progress on the boat. I'm thinking a 115 like I have on Miss Morgan would improve things a lot.....I love the inline mercs! They just have an attitude when you look at them! Nothing else quite like them! What would be better is twin mercs!

Speaking of upgrades, can anyone tell me how they rate pontoons? Mine doesn't have a max HP rating or anything like that on the stern. Right now that is a gray area for me, what I can upgrade to.

After flipping through it, looks like the sky is the limit on pontoons. I find it odd that inboards are unlimited......what is the difference? At the end of the day its all about how much HP gets delivered to the prop.

Re: Pontoon rebuild / redesign

A relative of mine had a BIG old toon kinda like that and I remember thinking it was odd that it was only rated for 90.......
