Stumpalump - Definitely not an overall Apple or site issue. I've been playing with the Mac stuff in a testing area we have behind the scenes, and the development team does testing across platforms too. Not that everything has been caught, but the basics are working pretty well right now.

No doubt the forum "upgrade" has punched the forum community in the gut, but it's anything else but a complete loss. And between the objectives for the for profit side of iBoats and continued existence of an otherwise free-to-use forum, the changes instituted were necessary. Regardless, what has always and will always make this forum a nice place to virtually hang out are the real people - fellow boaters - behind the screen names. Guys and gals who I've gotten to know over the years are worth a little extra posting time and working with the developers to shake the sand out of our digital shorts.

Surely it's not working properly (and honestly, we do apologize for that), but to say the forum isn't basically working is not correct.

It went grey for a moment then back to the screen you write on so I have no way to know if it posted or not. Am I in edit mode now or am I continuing on a post that was already clicked to be posted? Idk. Let's say I'd like to show the cool 1968 3hp tender motor I'm refirbishing and how easy it is. I can't post a pic in the middle of a post then add more text and then another pic. The whole thread would be choppy, hard to read. So a simple fix, tune and refirbishing would be way to frustrating to post and read. The reason I like to do build threads on other hobbies is not only for the site and readers but as a reference and permanent record on what has been done. So to rephrase...On Apple I have no way to resize, no way to insert photo in middle of text, no confirmation that it actually posted leaving no way to write a worthwhile and readable thread on the refirb.

There may be another problem. I just tried to buy two ignition coils and a flywheel nut for a 1974 Johnson 9.9 10R74S.
Shows unavailable but everybody else including the place some of your parts ship from (CM) have them. That may or may not be right but I thought I'd mention it and I still need the parts.

Both out of iOS 11 (above) and out of macOS Sierra (below):
Click image for larger version Name:	image_282594.jpg Views:	2 Size:	687.3 KB ID:	10524080

You can write a completely readable, and worthwhile topic on this outboard.

The old rule about photo sizing is still there. The file you attached was over 2MB, and the iBoats Forum has never accepted an image that size. I downloaded your attached file, opened Preview, adjusted the size to under 750KB in size, Air Dropped over to the iPad and then posted the first time.

Then swapped back over to my Mac and posted this time.

There isn't an issue based on platform.

Make sure you're selecting the image size "LARGE" when you upload:

If you don't select a size (Large seems to be working best) then the image shows up similar to the ones I've seen in your posts recently:

And if you use the camera icon in the upper left, then you get this:

Works for me using the camera icon, even from my Android tablet. One new upload and one from a previous iBoats upload:

Using the Share Photos, Camera, icon gives you no control where the pics are placed in your post. The Upload Attachments to the right allows you to select a size and the pic is placed where the cursor is when you click the battery with a fishhook.

The Camera Icon won't let you do what I did in this post using the fishhook battery. https://forums.iboats.com/forum/oth...10564-new-iboats-site?p=10524510#post10524510

Does anyone know what's the window size in pixels of the profile cover photo to show full picture. Downloaded a 1000 x 750 pixel pic and the cropped area has been way huge. BTW, my current notebook and new updated weg page are now running on steroids, speed is super fast than before, congrats to the team that made that possible.

Hooked another one! LOL

Perfect!

I think this is where we have the 6 pic limit, but I won't swear to anything for a while.

Profile cover photo - Your avatar or the header photo on your profile that reminds me of a Twitter account? I see palm trees in your header, I have the New York City skyline and no idea where that came from.

We have more new things to play with now.

I put a new PHOTO TUTORIAL up as a "we know how these two work" for now. There are more options than what I've posted, and more to be discovered. But for now - these two work.
