Test post for speed cause I am curious and have nothing to say....Wow, kinda like the other forum I visit now. Good Job!

See Jake, we sometimes listen. LOL

You may see an occasional lag after posting. Some of the things the IT staff are doing in the basement cause a temporary slowdown. Just so you know. Speedwise it's a heck of a lot better overall

Scott did warn me that he was really good about breaking stuff! But really, you're gonna get us kicked out of the buffet!

Hey Tim....loading pictures into ideabook is broken.....or I broke it..... dumped in 105 photos (about 10-20 at a time), it made duplicates of half of them and gave an error message once. it is not showing any of the photos.

Feel free to delete from the server if they are stuck somewhere.

Scott Danforth - If you look at Photos up top, under Projects click View All. You have a mess of your 468 build pics. No idea if those are the ones that made it into your Ideabook.

It usually takes a few minutes for pictures to show up after they've been loaded...

if you scroll thru, you will notice there are some shown 5 times, some shown 4 times, etc..... I uploaded 105 photos, 199 show up. just spent 20 minutes deleting (could use a mass delete button). anything over 20 photos at a time into the ideabook and the server goes PPPPhhhhhllllbbbtttttt........ and all sort of random stuff happens.

I didn't look at the whole thing. I think the page is nothing but a trash heap. Not meaning your stuff, but it's a completely disorganized dump of pics. It needs some serious work to better organize.

If you're viewing photos in the new Photos section www.iboats.com/photos you can use the left-side filters to quickly narrow down the types of photos you want to see. (When anyone uploads photos they are required to categorize the photos.)

Alternatively, you can do a keyword search and select "IN PHOTOS" in the search drop-down suggestions. This will give you photos matching your keywords. For example, if you search "bass boat" IN PHOTOS then you will get photos of bass boats.

You can also see photos in your personal newsfeed. After logging in, visit the www.iboats.com homepage and you'll see a personalized newsfeed of photos, videos, products, and threads that match your boating interests and projects. You can customize your personal newsfeed boating interests and projects by clicking on the "CUSTOMIZE YOUR FEED" button on the homepage just below the orange "Sale" hang tag (top right).

Hey Scott - What category are your 468 build pics in?

the categories were limited, so I put them in engine type/sterndrive. however since the system is still being worked on and there were so many multiples, I deleted them.. Will re-add a bit later when working. I added one photo back in just now

the other 365 photos that show up are ones from my posts over the past months after photobucket went kablooey

as for category, making the categories match the types of forums..... restoration, mercruiser, yamaha, stupid-human-tricks, etc. would make sense.

Extremely good idea, Scott. Double tickle Kiter007 iboats_tim

Engine Type/Sterndrive isn't a category we can select for viewing photos, Either under Photos or a Customized Feed. Essentially They are in the Random Limbo category. The categories for adding should match what is fed or selectable.

I have no idea where my old Media folders are categorized.

He southkogs , your going to have to re-write the photo posting tutorials......

That's just the start after things settle down so we know how it works.

I see another thing, too. The mention for Kiter shows a mini-avatar and the rest of us don't. How to add?

Yup - I was thinking about that last night, but like GA said, I don't completely get 'em myself yet.

But, your suggestion did spur the idea of a quick update at the top of the tutorial.

I think avatars are still a little funky. I can't get mine showing up in all of the little places just yet. Not sure even what to ask about in fixing it ...

Try this to add/change your profile and cover images:
1. Select "Edit Profile" from the your iboas account drop-down in the top-right corner
2. Click "Profile Images" from the left-side navigation under ACCOUNT
3. Use the "Browse" button to select images (one for your profile, another for your cover)
4. Click "Upload" button for each image
5. Click "Save & Upload" to make the change

Let us know if this works...

Just resaved my avatar and mine is showing up now too. It's a workaround of course but it does work. When we have some more bandwidth for the smaller fixes I'll see if we can get this to fix automatically for everyone.

I did what you suggested yesterday and mine was showing up at the top of the page ... it is not today ... maybe I need to re-log in, even though I am logged in and posting???? Hmmmm ...

edit: double HMMMMM ... went to my profile and the avatar was there and in the circle on the upper right hand corner. Back to the forums and it is gone ... scratching my head ... and aspeck is not showing up beside the circle ... but I am there in my profile ...

photo282609.jpg There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the VB5 Zone.
