What made you want to change it up? I'm honestly getting the same desire these days. I think you saw my thread on the 2550 SX over on the Hull Truth? I'm seriously thinking about putting it up for sale in this crazy market and trying to cash in on some of my sweat equity and find a Formula 252 LS/SS with a 454/502 Mag that can do 60 easily as a new project haha! We can't get enough or be satisfied once our projects are mostly complete, can we?Hey Drew, nice to hear from you.
Yes, I sold the Formula 330 in Sept. 2021 to a guy who took it down south to the gulf of Mexico area. In October of that year, I bought 'the beast' (2016 Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider). It is one of those 'crossover' style of boats where you have both forward seating and a mid-cabin. It has the new style of Mercruiser engines (not GM-based) and all the fancy Smartcraft and Axuis stuff. Was a real headache at first, but I am getting used to it. It is a lot heavier than the Formula (same LOA, but a bit wider beam and deeper 'V' hull) . . . as such, it sucks down the gasoline like nobody's business.
This will be my second season with it, so getting all the stuff done that I thought of doing during the first season of usage.
I'm good these days, hope you're doing well also! You are correct, I am still in Annapolis where I did my masters and then decided to open up a a boat repair, training, and consulting business that I've been running for almost two years now. It's crazy how these types of projects help one develop real and useful skills!
Anyway, I'll send you a message on FB so we can chat! I really appreciate all of the help you've given me over the years. I wouldn't have been able to finish the Sea Ray rebuild without you and the crew here!
Regards,
Drew
