I know that feeling, atleast my wife does all i hear is about the time and money. But i have never had the enjoyment that i am restoring my boat. It looks great.
Well today I removed all the bellows and fought with the shifted cable for about 2 hours till I cut it and drilled it out. Also got one seat base done and the other one cut but then it started to rain. So I went inside and started torquing the motor and messed up and tightened two bolts two 60lbs so now I need two new rod bolts.
Feels like nothing is getting done. I'm just happy the hurricane isn't coming to me.
Here is a pic of the last coat of resin after grinding the imperfections.
Here is the boat after a little quick wash
And here is a BBC milled down to work with the sbc
quick question? are you useing marine plywood? and is that an alpha or bravo out drive? i ask because i just bought an 89 raven 2100 bow riderand the floor is soft in the back of the boat, and it looks like im going to be doing the same thing!
ps i know nothing about boats except how to drive them lol
i used exterior grade wood for the stringers and sanded wood for the floor. i have an alpha one gen 2. got alot done this weekend. installed gimbal housing with all new parts and cable, and put the motor in.here are some pics. hope to have the engine bolted down tonight.
Yes its a very good engine lift,no effort needed.Gas tank is infront of the engine. The little port hole is where the door goes for the sender. And I live in Miami, nothing but salt water here.
This is how the engine sits now new starter, alt.,water pump, and power steering. Intake and valve covers are still loose because I just finished adjusting the rockers.my main focus was to get the acc. Drives done to see where the heat exchanger can go to make the mounts. Also ordered the raiser block off gasket and new thermostat housing.
Got all the engine harness done and git it running half ads. I think the timing is off alittle. also got the holes in the transom. And also ran the exhaust pipes but need two more downpipes from the y pipes.
Been getting a lot of little things done. Git the trim tabs finally working. Also had to replace the new Fp because it cracked.
Here is a video of if running and a pic at the gas station.....going for a test ride this weekend.
