Looks like the crew is ready for the Captain to get her on the water. I'm really liking the colors and the chrome on your boat. She is coming together nicely.:thumb:

Well , we have a bit of a problem....

As you can see, the top has spread.....thanks to a late night call to the expert,(WoG)I have a plan.... Just not sure how I got to this position...if I can solve it, I will post the resolution, other wise I am going to remove the center section of the window for now.

Have a good night..

Bummer that the windshield is not fitting after all of that work. I'm sure you (and WoG) will come up with a solution. I am just wondering if you have any 'play' in lowering the consoles to true up the frame?

Hmmmmm .... All I can think of at the moment is maybe some thicker gasket on both outside edges where the wrap around meets the top cap .. Also thinking if you can slide the outside wrap around further toward the rear of the boat . Kinda pivot it on each side it may push the top of the opening a little closer together ..
Hinge adjustment maybe ?

Bummer! I think shimming it with a taper running from the rear of each side glass towards the front might work. Or try to shim it right in the curve on both pieces. Either with a thicker gasket or with an uhpolstered piece of wood.

Not really sure what happened, but after the window were completely tightened down, the gap got worse. All I can think of is some how it spread. when I had the top on the saw horses maybe. No dice in trying the straps to pull the top together and re drilling the hull/top seam. I could get the gap to close, but would run out of edge margin on the hull to re drill. So I took the center window off for now. The shims may be the fix, I dont know...I will have to think about this for a while.

Here is todays update....

Window support and side trim installed.

Gauges and steering system installed.

Toggles, horn button and depth finder installed.

As you can see the windows are pretty hazy, any recommendations for a polish?? Ive always felt most of the stuff you can get is not much better than snake oil.... Thanks and have a good evening.

Corjen I know the window thing is going to bug you but concentrate on everything that has gone right and WOW that is a ton of right stuff you got there. That boat is looking awesome, especially with the 4 kids sitting up front.

Mark is absolutely right your doing a fabulous job even with the winshield gap. Worse case you could make a new walk through piece with some aluminum channel and have a piece of glass cut at a glass shop. A good automotive glass shop may even be able to fab one frame and all. Like has been said the boat is gonna be awesome. Have a great rest of the weekend, and a great Fathers Day.

Thanks All for the compliments...

Nothing flashy to show....just the bane if my aviation career, my car hobby and my boat hobby; wiring!!! Have I mentioned that I hate wiring?? I dont really know why, just that I have always disliked it.

BOO!!

Have a great night all!!

Looks really great core! I've been thinkin about the windshield. Maybe a pc. of metal stock u channel {shower door kits/parts} Exaggerated width, slide over existing pc. of frame that center window was secured to. Template fit it to off angle to fill void at top of window. Would show as 1 pc. top to bottom instead of messing with windshield deck spacers/shims. Kinda like when you do install a shower door side frame when walls are out of square.
Just thinkin.
