here is a mid day update....after lighty dusting the bare aluminum with self etching primer, shot the first coat of gloss black!!! 50/50 mix of paint and straight acetone (70 deg here today) + a teaspoon of hardener.







Not sure why there is so much orange peel in the middle strip....it gets covered by the sticker anyway.....the rest came out great I think.








Time for a beverage while the paint kicks....

Nice and shinny. Like a brand new penny. Looks Great Cor!!!! :applause:

A bit more towards the end....started masking a taping today...











Hope to shoot some primer in the next couple days.....temps are in the high 80's/low 90's thru the weekend... no predicted storms!!!

Sometimes it takes longer to mask everything off than to shoot the paint .. Looking forward to seeing some primer !

Finished masking, acetone bath and sprayed some primer. I vastly underestimated the amount needed for the first coat. (1qt) Good thing its the first coat....

Finished off the first coat of primer..its amazing what a clean sheet will show...









Set it out side to bake in the sun!!



Dont think I an going to get much else done today...
