I have a 18.5 ft 1994 sea-pro dual console with a 3.0l engine in it. I will be pulling the engine and replacing with a 4.3 engine in the spring ( I fish in the colder months ) I have acquired 10 yards of 1708 and will most likely be using poly resin to build the beds. I will be asking more specific questions as it gets closer to starting the project but my question now is does this sound like the way to go with materials this far or should I scrap the 1708 and get something else. Also is there anything else material wise I should be collecting?

so I pulled the engine due to a hole in the head, so i figuered it would be a good time to take a picture of the area that I will be puting the v6 in..
The mount on the engine measure to be around the location that I have marked on the picture

Here is a 4.3 Vortec engine install dwg https://samerwebapp01apncus01.azure...e-9186-4ce3dfaead13/43lefialpha_1996-2001.pdf

shows location of mounts etc. not sure if you will need to remove the original front mount
Thanks thats what I used to determine that the beds need to be just to the outside of the front mount thats there now. Question is do I just build the mounts up from the bottom of the boat or do I tye it into the stringers on both sides of the engine well.

This is the space that I have to plant the v6 in..
The space is 33 inches apart and going by the power plant spec sheet I've got its looks like the engine measures 29 inches... do I have enough room for the power plant ?

The widest point at the front of the engine on my 4.3 is about 32” due to the water pump and water intake hoses. Also I’m close to 33” at the rear of the motor due to the exhaust wye pipes and rubber couplings.

Would agree it would be tight might have to cut some glass to access it.

Would do a remote oil filter set up and the seats/compartments on the side - what is in there ? when you open can you cut a hand hole in the side for access to drain plugs and spark plugs My grandfathers boat has similar set up but had set cushions that popped out so you could get in there. Had a 5" or so dia hole to get to drain plugs and other items on that side of engine.

On the left Is the battery box and to the right is the live well..

I can cut a lot of the flat glass out on the left and excess things through there but the right is the live well..
