Re: Lower Susquehanna

Got out this morning from about 10:30 -2:00. It was beautiful. Got a little choppy as the day went on but no problem. Did some tubing. Anchored and ate some lunch. Did some more tubing and headed home. Time to relax before work tonight.

There will be 3 Starcrafts hitting Conowingo Sunday putting in at the ramp next to Peach Bottom Nuclear. Two will be maiden voyages. Anyone else going to be in the area?

Re: Lower Susquehanna

Where is the Sandbar on Lake Clark? I am hoping to get my boat wet for first time in about a month or so. Still have some work to do on it yet. Would be interested in meeting up with some of the locals on Lake Clark. I am in Millersville so not far to run.

Re: Lower Susquehanna

The sand bar/cove is located 2.5 miles east north east of the york county public ramps (lock 2) ..the sandbar is between shad and rookery islands on the washington boro side (lancaster) side of the river. Its easy to find it on the weekends because there will be 30+ boats hanging out. It has a nice sandy bottom and you can anchor up in 8-2' of water your choice. I will post maps later, im getting ready to head to the lake as we speak.
There is a bunch of lakeclarkers on this thread so throw all the ??? You have and im sure you will get the info you need..

Re: Lower Susquehanna

We just got back it was a great day, the water was smoother than normal on a buisy day, and the water temp was 79. We towed a family back to long level marina, it was amaising this guy was trying to paddle a 20' bowrider and no one but me stopped...i expected better than that from other boaters.

I am sure that you are still out, but looking forward to hearing the report of how the maiden voyages went.

Bummer. I better scratch Goldsboro off the list until we get some more rain. I'll be at Conowingo tomorrow.

I was told if the water level at harrisburg is 5' or higher goldsboro will be about a foot deeper in the chanels. The only place i did not see bottom was down by the dam. We had no issues in the jon boat though.

Re: Lower Susquehanna

Went for a nice slow cruise around Lake Clark Sunday afternoon. Got down by the dam an came across a speedboat with a motor that wouldn't start. Towed them back up to the public ramp. Went back down the west side a little ways after that and caught a nice 17" bass. Finally got a bass instead of a catfish. It was a nice day.

That's where I usually fish. West side a little ways down river from the public ramps.

Re: Lower Susquehanna

We were out on sunday, it was crowded at the sandbar, i stopped counting at about 70 boats, the the water was calm for being a busy day. And its was not too bad at rhe ramp either it seemed everyone had there smart caps on that day and everything ran smooth. I double checked the water temp and i was getting 79 deg in 10' of water and 84 in 4' you would think it would be warmer but it is what it is.

Re: Lower Susquehanna

Conowingo was (as usual) fairly dead on Sunday. Water was HOT and calm. It's always amazing how unpopulated it is down there even on holiday weekends.
