Hey are those long tube headers on your chevy truck? We'll be expecting a start up video, I love the sound of a SBC breathing well.

Yessiree, Hookers, roller rockers, lumpy Crane Cam, Trick Flow "aluminum" Heads:watermelon:

Anxious as H-E-double toothpicks to hear this dog bark after so many years...

You can bet I'll be making a vid of that when it happens!:D

Oh yeah very nice. I'm so tired of all the hissing egg stench mobiles and poot muffler 4 bangers on the road today. My old Chevy truck is like a brother to me, sometimes I love it and other times I hate it.

Thanks Minch,
Been doing lots of web shopping and right now it looks like rockauto is offering the best parts for the best prices...

I'll holler as soon as things start sorting out.
The pics are of the gas springs installed and doing a top notch job of supporting the hatch... IMG_4585JPG.jpg
IMG_4581JPG.jpg IMG_4580JPG.jpg

And a frivolous shot of the right front suspension torn apart...

BTW, ball joints are NOT supposed to look like this...

Till next time...
Happy Restorations...:D

As long as your attorney contacts my attorney and they conclude that there is no patent infringement, you are welcome to steal any of my crazy ideas😜

Oh, I get it, the Chinese are literally reinventing the wheel...or at least how to stop them from rolling...🙄

So much for US branded parts...:target:
Stuff is even endorsed by one of my favorite sports in the whole wide world...Costs as much as if it had been made here...
I only pray that someday soon companies like this and TRW and others find a way to produce our products with American Materials and American Workers in America...:usa::usa2:
Sorry, but I have witnessed first hand, over the last 20-30 years, the deterioration of American products of all kinds, ever since we stopped making everything here...:peep::brick:

Hopefully, these parts will last long enough for me to save enough money to be ready to replace them when real American parts are available again!
:laser::boom::bolt:
Rant over, carry on...;)

Doggone life sure does have a habit of getting in the way...
Awww well, I suppose if it didn't there wouldn't be anything left to do...

Anyhow, hope everyone is doing good and many wakes are created by many happy splashes.

Haven't got a great deal to report, but the Bassassin finally has a splashwell as indicated by the pics.

Made some cardboard templates and used cardboard to prevent glass from getting where I don't want it.

Using resin, PB and 1708 I attached the sections of the well and using the rear hatch frame as a guide, got the splash well looking fairly decent.

I had also managed to paint more of the bilge and under deck areas.

Have to order a sheet of marine ply, when fundage allows, to complete the framing of the gunnels which will tie the front deck framing to the rear.

Still have drain holes to drill into the transom for the well, build the gunnel frames, finish some painting of the underside rear deck framing areas, install the gunnel pieces and then, hopefully attach (permanently) the rear hatch/deck frame.

When I get all that done, I will then be able to begin the the final and permanent attachment of the motor bracket.

Looking into the future, when the bracket gets mounted, it will allow me to finally begin building the tower of power on to its new home...

Till the next update becomes reality, happy boating!

Oh and a quick PS...

The 'ol truck has once again been sidelined due to finding that the cam and lifters got trashed at some point, creating the need for a complete tear down of the block...very sad but true...:grumpy:

Suspension repairs have been completed on both the Dodge van and the 300.

Still not thrilled with chinese parts, but until they start making these parts again, here in the good 'ol US, I can only hope they will last long enough until I an afford to get new vehicles...:faint2:

Who said boats are a hole you throw money into...seems like old cars are in the same category...:D

Happy Boating!:fish2:
