Latest main bar update. Sink in place, ceramic top ordered so sink not permanent yet. Under bar lights in place and oak on the bar front. Some trim work to do, ceramics and bar top then tidy up the bartender side and out with the stain !!! Note GFI outlet will be positioned closest to the sink before any water is connected.

This weeks update on "The Drunken Skunk" Bar front casing and essential trim in place as is the foot rail, more "design trim" to be added, bartender side has the casing over the frame and the cabinet doors made and fitted, fridge opening will be trimmed when fridge in place, still waiting for the work counter top ceramics but have the back splash ceramics ready to go, bar top, arm rail and beer gutter will be drawn up and worked on next but want the ceramic work finished before installation.......Oh yes and the drum set is ready for re-finishing next time the English chestnut stain comes out. Ceramics cut and fixed in place. Grouting next then on with the bar top itself. Staining and shiny stuff after that.

The missus and I were just admiring these projects, and I said to her:"Now we know what these guys do when they're not working on their boats! They build bars!":joyous:

Looking awesome BTW!

Thanks for the kind words. This project should have been finished a long time ago but I travel a lot overseas for work and then there's vacations away, campground season where we have a seasonal lot and spend virtually all free time there as the boat is docked there as well. Using some valuable time during the off seasons to try to get this completed.

Crazy idea....... on your overseas business trips .....you should bring back a piece of local or exotic wood. Possibly a piece that would fit in the suitcase ...... then incorporate that wood into your "international" pub maybe as an inlay. You are doing a great job!!

VERY cool idea Bob. I visited a home last year that was owned by a lumber "baron" from the late 1800's. He did that exact type of thing in one room of the house, probably over 50 competing wood grains in a single room. It was beautiful ... and I didn't have a camera.

Great job Ken, it's lookin' very nice.

I like the idea. I picked up beer cans and bottles from all around the world for the shelves behind my bar.
Just a bit of advice I am sure you already know. Wood may be considered a "plant" and "smuggling" of even samples internationally without declaration might have unintended consequences.

Coming back into Canada directly would be no issue, however coming into the USA and then traveling to Canada could be tricky.
