There are three, maybe four now, ships at Jamestowne in Virginia: The Susan Constant & Godspeed are the two I know for sure. They're as close to original as they felt they could build them, and don't carry engines on board. The Susan Constant sails a couple times per year I think: don't need engines because they stay within the bad (I think is how it works).

When I talked with they guys on the Niña, they had to meet all USCG regs and apparently that included engines due to where they travel.

Neat boats.

Took a nice ride on Dale Hollow Lake yesterday outta' Sunset Marina. Hadn't been on this lake in a few years. Very pretty day, and the food at the marina restaurant was top notch

I did the Bayliner too. Kinda' funny for me that for the most part "winterizing" is just pullin' the block drain and shovin' it back in the garage. But we won't get a chance to go back out until December at the earliest ... and the Admiral isn't much of a winter boaterette.

Less than 20 minutes NorthEast toward Nashville they had next to nothing - thought my drive in to the office was gonna' be SLOW, but turned out to be kinda' normal.

I do remember the days when I lived in the northern state of Pennsylvania and the snowy days where everything was so silent, but beautiful as well. Amazing how the snow deadens the noise. But equally glad I don't have to put up with it for weeks, some times months, on end... White snow turns quickly into brown slush and every vehicle is coated in the brown slush...with salt of course... (

^^^ I'm with you. When I miss the snow, it's for the amazing silence of the woods in the winter time. When you're in an area that is relatively untouched and white: makes you think the world is actually pure in places.
