Yeap I can see the pics fine. Are you going to put some sealer like Helmsman Spar over the Behr stain?

No thats a stain and sealer in one.Im also going to put the fasco epoxy on the edge of the wood as thats where water gets in and delaminates the wood.

You know the deck is bad when the previous owner puts an extra layer of wood on top for support….

What kind of setup do you have? You going to put an carpet or vinyl over that for traction?

I am going to leave it as is ,i strictly fish so i feel that it will be best for me to leave it like it is.If it seems slippery i might add traction strips .IM not a fan of carpeting at all but the option would be open to vinyl if needs be .The boat will easly be able to be stripped of consul if its necessary in the future to change or alter the flooring.I came from a cedarstrip boat that was highly varnished and i never slipped .

Wonder if you could do one more coat of that stuff and add a non-slip additive? Give you traction plus not change the appearance to much

I am going out to look around at supplies so i will keep that in my poor overheated mind.Theres truck bed liner on the bottom of the boat from previous owner.Asked fasco if it was ok to apply over and answer was only if liner was epoxy based.I know where the liner came from so im going to check.Let me tell you that stuff is tuff.

I absolutely LOVE my marine vinyl deck. The stuff is very grippy, easy enough to clean and super tough. Mine still looks great after 7+ years. It's not cheap but I think it's worth it an adds an additional layer of protection to the deck.

Think i found the perfect solution.Dupli-Color has a transparent truck bed liner that states on the back can be used for metal,glass,wood..Do not scuff paint just make sure it contaminant free. Its textured and if anybody knows anything about bed liner its that its like an armour coating.Ive nothing against vinyl ezmobee im just into the stain/sealer already so im not willing to add the cost of good vinyl vs the cost of the bedliner which will keep my stained look and add texture and super toughness.

Well as long as your first coat holds, its always an option. You will have three different coatings on that board: 9XN, Behr, and Dupli-Color

Ah, will be interested to see how you think it compares to your experience with Gulvit. If you think it handles better and seems more robust (Not sure you can figure that one out without beating on it, but figured I would throw it out there)

Well i still have some rivets on the inside to use the fasco on and the underside also just as an added layer of sealing.I sure hope its a good product for sure.

Hey in case you didn't know, I'm all for unorthodox methods out of the mainstream line of thought on how to do these things. Just make sure you keep your thread updated on how well your decking holds up with the sealing and coating. I used Rusto deck armor along with their stain/sealer on my SN decks and that stuff once cured is tough as nails and after years still looked great when I sold her. No matter what guys do I see way more effort than the factory ever did to keep their wood protected.

Will try to remember Watermann, ive seen lots of decks in boats that only lasted 1 season because they just threw vinyl on and called it a day!Time will tell.It says right on the can of liner for wood.im just using that as a antislip product.I just went out and checked the piece i did and that stuff seems like armor plating and has a nice rough texture to it.Just because it hasnt been done before doesnt mean it wont work:D
