Next is new territory for me. Using the new tool and lining this thing up. Get the front motor mount screwed down. I imagine that gonna be a all day deal.

very easy man you wont have any issues as long as you remember that down effects top of shaft and up effects bottom :)

before i put my motor in what i do is shoot a lazer through gimble make sure its center then take measurements and mark dead center so when i put my front mount down i know im centered drill them and then i only need to worry about up and down .

Yes but you are the Ninja Master and I am yet a weedhopper. You have lasers I have to yet master the shiny metal stick.

shiny metal stick works but lasers are more fun to use and say :) hold fingers up and bends them when he says laser.

Well I had enough fun for one day. I modified a crescent wrench I got it all loose now. I gonna go ride 10 miles in 100 degree weather take out some frustrations. I need a clue how to do this other than the tool should slide in. Like how far how much play should it have. I may have had it done perfect 4 times already and not had a clue.

Never tried the 1 inch pipe but I'm told it works well... you can usually look thru the gimbal bearing with a bright flashlight and get a pretty good idea which way it needs to go.

Looks pretty much perfect that way looking through the gimble. I think I am just unsure and being to anal. I am going to measure how deep it should be going and see if it is already in that far.

Like i said I probably had it 4 times already but don't know what I am looking for.

Again... the front mount only controls up and down.. the left right alignment is completely controlled by the transom plate... just bolt up the rear mounts while it's supportedby your hoist and use the alignment bar to get it close... mark and drill the holes... go splash this monkey fightin snake on this Monday to Friday plane

I slacked alot today. Gardened cut the grass. Rode the 18 speed 10 miles. Watered the whole mess. Then I messed with the boat a while.

I got it going into the splines now I am sure. I adjusted it out both directions. I am sure because I got so much grease on the tool I can see the splines when I pull it out.

Tomorrow we load the gantry up and take it back.

Then now I know what it feels like when it is working. Drill the holes. Put the screws in them. Take them both back out and pour a little resin in the holes. Then tighten them down. That will seal it.

Then adjust it again. Move on to other things.

Okay took gantry back yesterday check.............

Fooled with boat after working on other things a while check............

Slept on it and thought about it. Went out and put the tool in. loosened the rear mounts. Then did my best impression of the Russian cosmonaut on Armageddon. Grabbed the engine and manhandled it saying this is how we do it on a Russian space station.

Not sure where the myth no side adjustment came from mine had at least 3/4 inch movement. Once it was lined up side to side it was a breeze. The inch pipe is the trick for dialing it in the ball park.

I got it drilled and tight slides in and out like butter.

Now I gonna take one bolt at a time out and put resin in the hole and tighten it back down. There now what water.

I fooled with it some more before I had to do other things. I am happy i have all the linkages and they work correctly from the shifter/throttle dealy.

I have to make the exhaust elbow gasket next. I am learning this stuff on the fly. I never seen any of this before. So I am Movin kinda slow like Uncle Joe at the Junction.

Startng to look like something under the hood now. First time i ever saw this thing with a motor in it.

Coming together. I often find it does help to step away and think/not think about things and then it usually hits me and I think wow, that would've been nice to have thought of a week ago.

I got a double header going on right now. I promised to do some electrical work for my aunt and uncle. Good thing I start early. I got the text we home now.

OMG I forgot all about it I was hearing Vrooom Vrooom in my head. I got the outdrive on today. And the exhaust elbow inside.

I got more wiring to finish up tomorrow. I heard the river was crap right now anyway with all the storms. Big stuff floating in it they said.

Boat just looks wierd to me with the prop on it now. I am so used to seeing it without the outdrive. It shifts and does everything it should.

I had it up and I heard POP the exhaust boot came off the easy side to get on. Easy being relative. The side next to the transom is the beeotch.
