Ignition module screws

does anyone know what screw size and thread is used to fasten the ignition module on a 2001 3.0 mercruiser? The exact screw has been discontinued and i couldn’t find specs to find a comparable one. I dropped one into the hull of the boat and searched for a long time with no luck. Thanks!

Screw might be stainless, but they are still usually slightly magnetic. Have you tried probing around the bilge with a strong magnet?

I haven’t tried that yet, I’ll give it a try. In the meantime if anyone knows a screw that will work let me know incase I still don’t find it

Take out the remaining one and go match it up at the hardware store. It's probably SAE, might be brass size 8 or 10 I'd guess.

Don't know but it should be metric. The distributor cap screws are M3x5, think those are probably the same size, but maybe longer
Take the one you have to a hardware store and find a nut the screw will go into, then you have the size. If you do find out let us know, so others can find out

I just did this on my 4.3 Mercruiser and have two spares. I checked and they are definitely 10-32". Now I don't know for sure if your 3.0 has the same screws, so it's best to do as others have said. Bring the one you have to a hardware store.

Not having your serial number to confirm... I do believe you'll be looking for ACDelco part number 10469668 which is their bolts for the EST design module that should be the same as Mercruiser's part number 10-811638 only described as an Screw, cap, Hexagon Head... O'reilly auto parts may carry them too if so.
