Hydraulic ram stuck on pin

Trying to remove the hydraulic rams and pin form my transom assembly and they won't free. WD-40'd and light hammering/prying, nothing. Seem to be fused with the plastic bushings and really don't want to snap the transom/gimbal assembly by hammering too hard. Can they be heated to melt the plastic sleeves?

LOSE the HAMMER Get your self a pitman arm puller and slightly modify the ends to fit behind the cylinder. once removed use a 3/4 inch plumbers wire brush to clean the insides of your clyinger untill the bushings slide right in

too late. metal hammer on metal worked. suspect it has been 25 years
