First off that boat looks like one bad motherfather sitting in the water..and as the video goes it might be easier to put it on youtube then just post the link..
OHHH MAn she looks great !!!!!!!!!!!!!! she sits really nice in the water!!! It looked petty cold out there !!! Hay I do think I am off starting the 14 , was thinking about the races down there , you still going ???
Hay I started My final sanding , took the tape off this morning !!!
Ok there John, She Looks Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John
I hope Your project is coming along. Remember this. . .like a classic car, the price is set by the value YOU choose. There is an *** for every seat. . .I think Confusious said that.
I just checked into the financials of this again. I believe you ended up coming in less than $20k into this project correct? It looks like it would cost over $100k (wow) to buy a new 30' Scarab Sport. It looks like it would cost well over $20k for a semi-decent older used one. You have ended up with a boat you know is solid all the way through, rigged correctly, and you have 2 outboards that have been thoroughly gone over. I think you did really well. And that boat it really going to turn heads.
What an awesome project!! Looks like you did a great job! Now you have one sharp looking boat, know exactly how it is built, and the pride of doing it all yourself!
Man am i jealous, I wish I had the money laying around to do something like that.
I hope you get to enjoy that boat for a long time!!!
Hey, John...great job !! Wow, you gotta be excited. I just couldn't pass up sending you this. It is on the Tampa craigslist. Pretty interesting with the motors and claimed top speed. Thought you might want to see what an older, not rebuilt model is worth!! (Or at least what he is asking).
You did it the way it was supposed to be done. It is an awesome boat, fantastic work and many congratulations on a job well done. Now post the vids of you enjoying that wicked, wicked boat!
These short videos were not worth the wait at all. But I will take more and still try and post the first video of her going in the water and on the maiden voyage.
The first video is of us just crusing at 4000rmp at about 41 mph, my buddy Marcus is driven and that other kid Anthony didn?t contribute at all to the project but he still feels important on such a sweet boat. http://s675.photobucket.com/albums/vv113/jserb04/?action=view¤t=boatvideo002.flv
the second vid you need to trim the motors out a little. Just a little. So they are angled out. Thrust is fighting the tabs. I might be wrong though as its hard to gauge it from those vids. WOW!!!!!! good job
