Stringers 101!!!
Wood is Harder than PB. Believe it or NOT!!!! In actuality you could us 1/4" foam glued to the bottom of the wood and then just use PB to form the Fillets and then tab the stringers to the hull and you'd be good to go. You just don't want the wood to sit directly on the hull and you want the PB fillets to make the transition for the 1708 fabric easier.

The filleted PB will also be a much larger footprint on the inside of the hull to distribute any loading from the exterior side...

Rather then a hard edge of a plywood stringer.

Thanks guys, very much appreciated. That makes complete sense, I was just trying to get my head around it.
This delay has had a negitive effect. I tend to over think things as it is. In my business if something goes wrong there is a good chance that somebody could be hurt. Well actors can get hurt, they are people too... right???

I am kinda in information overload at this point so I am just trying to go over the transom and stringer replacement and worry about the rest later.

Thanks again !!

I bought these parts bins awhile back really cheap at an auction. Since then they have been stacked all over the place and mostly in the way. Yesterday I decided I needed to do something about them and this was the result

Not super happy with the way it came out, mainly because I hate OSB and I don't think it gives a quality look. But it is all leftover materials so I am basically into this for next to nothing. It is 4' wide and 16" deep (24" at the base for stability) and is on heavy duty caster so it is mobile. Not sure what I am going to do with the bottom section yet. (where the red bin is).

And no sheriff deputies showed up yesterday,
Evening before this I am a all suited up: Tyvek, hood and all, gloves, respirator, goggles, etc.
I am cutting along, turn off the saw and hear "Excuse me Sir," (Good thing the Tyvek's are disposable)
My shop is in a large storage unit complex, yes the owner knows I work on my boat in there. anyway, my rollup looks out over a field and next to that is the main road into our area. And apparently they have had a few problems so the are stepping up patrols.
So they are driving in look over and see "Breaking Bad" and came over to see what was going on.
As soon as they walked up, they new, but the stood and chatted for awhile, good guys!!! and it turns out we have several mutual friends.

I am convinced that if Terry Boats would have made the whole boat out of whatever adhesive they used to glue the transom wood, the boat would still have 50 years of life to it.
I have a good 8 hours of grinding into it and I am a little over half way done. I bet I got at least another 6 hours to go.

Hopefully I have found a solution to this transom adhesive !!!!!!
I was at HF yesterday and I came across this 4 1/2" 24 grit Carbide Cup for $9.99 and thought "What the Hell."
So today I had a few minutes at the shop, I throw it on the grinder, grab my respirator and goggles.
WOW !!!! WOW !!!! WOW !!!!! in less than a minute it grinds down to good glass an area about 6" square. :peace:

If only I would have had more time the rest of transom would be ground in probably 30 minutes
Actually looking forward to going at it in the next few days.
but until then I hope to do more of this !!!
