Re: Got me a Starchief

So your splash was kinda like MacArthur returning to the Philippines, like 10 times stepping off the LST until he got the perfect photo-op. I'd say 29 on a heavy Starchief is purty good with no trim. She is a keeper, RH.

Re: Got me a Starchief

Thanks guys. Fishing this morning was more fun than productive if that makes any sense. I caught 2 catfish, one pretty small, the 2nd not so small. Pics are right here....
1st launch yesterday....

Launch this morning, was a little later than I wanted to be, about 5:45

1st small catfish... it's tough taking pics of fish by yourself

2nd fish, a bit bigger

Why I like the big splashwell... there's still room for another 6 gal tank... or more batteries, eh Jas?:D

my solution to the sliding bimini issue, cut the tracks down so it only moves as far as required...

I can see my house from here!

It feels good to have the 'chief operational. I won't call it complete, there are quite a few things left to do, but it's great to be able to use it.

RH, she may not be complete but she catching fish. And you know she will never be "done". If your place is on the bank of the Delaware you should just tie up on the bank and put her on the trailer Sunday night or the end of summer after you get her done.

Awsome rh, my favorite saying is a bad day of fishing is always better than a good day at work. And what a great place to have a house.

Re: Got me a Starchief

Thanks Glen and GA.
I would love to be able to tie the 'chief up in front of the house, but the river is tidal here. To have it out far enough to be in the water all the time it would be too close to the channel. Also unfortunately the Army Corps of Engineers would tear down a dock as fast as I would build it. On a more positive note though, the township boat ramp is only 1/4 mile away, so it's not so bad. I can be in the water 15 minutes or so after I decide it's time. Shuffling vehicles is what takes up most of that time.

Still nice to have a ramp close. I have to drive almost 5 miles. And 2 fish is two fish. That's all I caught on my last fishing trip.

Truth be told, I would have been happy with 0 fish, I am still all giggly that the boat is operational. Just being in it, on the water was a good time.

You got that right, RH. First on the water, second catch some fish. Or not I just like putting around if I'm not feeding bait to fish.

Re: Got me a Starchief

Thanks guys. I really enjoy working on this boat, and now that it's floating it makes me want to work on it more. We finished up early on the job today so we managed to get in a couple hours fishing. No luck today but it was great being on the water again. I'm starting to feel spoiled:D
