oooooops I forgot to mention. The only thing that totally wipes away everything stated in my post is if it's time to get engaged, then and only then a diamond is the only thing that will please her or at least the marriage proposal.

My little lady doesn't care 'bout cards, candy, flowers, ect, she like $$$, so thats what I give her and she is as happy as a lark, my birthday is on the 24th, she asked me if I wanted another glock, so looks like I get a gun in exchange for the cash I gave her.

Spud

Some ladys, yes, but not mine. She likes things simple. No big deal about it, just some quality time with me is all she asks for and I am more than ready to provide that for her after putting up with me for 33 years today.

Don't you guys want a gals
opinion?

It's never about the cost of the gift. It's
always about the thought and sentiments
behind it. However, most of the time its not about
a gift at all. It's about making her feel special
in a romantic way.

Kiss her like you mean it.
Tell her you love her, REALLY love her.
Give her your undivided attention for as long as
you are together this Valentine's day.
Say something sweet that makes her feel beautiful
and appreciated. Be genuine when you say it too.

Do something she would never expect you to do,
like put the dang toilet seat down or something
for a whole day. :p But even better
would be something as simple as drawing her a
bath, lighting some candles and soft music and a
glass of wine. Spreading rose pedals on the bed
while she's in the tub.

Or, try preparing or picking up dinner for the two
of you and a nice bottle of wine and flowers.
Just don't sit there in your chair with the remote
while you eat it. Make it a special dinner with
candles and soft music.

Flowers and a card is still always a sure bet. But
why not buy an unusual or rare rose bush or
flowering shrub or tree like tylerin suggested.
Something that will last like your love for her
(put that in the card).

The most important thing to remember is....in
order to be truly romantic you must give her your
undivided attention and make her feel like you are
thrilled to be doing it.

This day for us is all about romance. No reason to
overdo it. Just do it.

Sorry, I just couldn't stand it anymore. You guys
floundering around wonderin what to do. A few of
you guys were certainly on the right track and
your wives are lucky to have you. :)

P.S. Next Tuesday on Ebay there will be a never
used flow meter or whatever its called....
.
.
.
.
dirt cheap. :p

P.S.S. Mr. LF, if you do any of my aforementioned
suggestions you are in deep doodoo for not being
original. :p ;) :D
Do we have to do all of that or just maybe one?If we choose to spread rose petals all over the floor and bed is it acceptible custom to have the wife pick it all up later? :D

Boy am I lucky!

Our first date was on February 15, 1992. We never go out or do anything on Valentines day. We go on February 15. In retrospect I was very shrewd.

Well not really. We were students at the time. Feb 15 was the Friday preceding reading week. Too busy as students to go out on Feb 14....

Joe

My wife is taking me to the casino today(we never go) and then to a Brooks and Dunn concert and then to the casino motel for the night. This was one of my Christmas presents so I better not forget Valentines day.

This is our first V day without kids in the house! YEEHAAA! I got it all planned out, dinner made by me (hotdogs and macaroni & cheese) candle light, incense, and then a movie. Maybe I'll put her in the mood by putting that porno tape in the VCR I found hidden in the cupboard. I haven't ever seen "Head Cleaner" Do you think she'll like it?

Re: Gentlemen, we need to talk. Sorry Ladies

LMAO SS Hope you don't get this..

.SYRACUSE, N.Y.(AP) Cupid occasionally misses his mark, so a local radio station is running a Valentine's Day contest offering a free divorce. "Everyone associates Valentine's Day with love, and diamonds, chocolate, roses. But what about those people that hate it. This is for those people," said Scott Petibone, program director at WKRL-FM, a progressive rock station heard in Syracuse and Utica.

The station, known as K-Rock, began promoting its divorce-giveaway Monday. By Thursday, the station received over 100 entries, Petibone said. A winner will be selected on Valentine's Day.

Although some contestants are offering explicit explanations of why they want a divorce, Petibone said none is necessary. However, the divorce must be uncontested.

"We're not looking for the most horrible stories or the most vicious couples," he said.

The free divorce will be handled by lawyer Brad Margolis. A divorce without custody issues, where both husband and wife want to split and agree on how to divide their assets, costs at least $1,390 - about $1,000 in legal fees and $390 in state filing costs, he said.

"That's a lot of money for a paper-pushing exercise. In a lot of these cases, people just want to make legal something that is already done," Margolis said, noting the national divorce rate is over 50 percent.

In Syracuse, some clergy called the contest tasteless.

"A divorce is a death, the death of a dream," said the Rev. Joseph Champlin, rector at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. "You wouldn't make a joke out of someone who died, would you?"

You all think forgeting Valentines day or B-day is bad.My husband and I forgot our anniversary last year.We usually go camping for the week.We invited my uncle and aunt to go with us,and we spent the whole day on the boat. We woke up the next day and realized what we forgot. We gave each other a big hug and said " It was a fun day happy late anniversary" this year will be 14 years and I already have it on the calender in big bold letters.
Serenity

I'm just waiting for the roasting when my far better half discovers that I've spent EVERY red cent I had on a nice shiny trailer for the boat... I have a funny feeling I'm going to be sticking card and painting like I did at school making her a card...

Still, I DID get a near brand new hallmark rollercoaster braked trailer!

Pointer, you still listening? Do you have a Cub Foods near you? They have a dozen roses for 14.88. No, they aren't florist quality, but they are very nice for the money. I always buy my wife's flowers there, and at their prices, I can afford to do it a little more often.
