$2.95 for the cheap stuff this morning.

but it's hard to complain about anything right now, with new orleans and surrounding areas a total loss.

Good point, Matt. I really feel deeply sorry for all of the folks affected by Katrina. If paying a little more for gas would help them, it would be a small price to pay.

However, none of the extra $$ would ever be used to actually help the victims. Just to line the pockets of the already welathy.

I saw 3.10 on the way to work this AM.

$2.79 here this morn, and expected to go up .30 in a day or two. Can I convert my trolling moter to power the truck?

Still have stations here at$2.40. The ones that have changed are at $2.80. I filled last night and the clerk said they would close when they ran out of gas. Their refinery had SHUT DOWN!? They couldn't get a delivery when normally scheduled. This was an Ashland station, the refinery is in Catletsburg KY.

Yesterday AM $2.39 Gal. Yesterday PM $2.55 Gal. seems a natural disaster has the power to effect the price of previously refined oil.  As well as future pricing. :( :(

This morning it went to 3.19 from 2.99 last night. Our governor looked into the matter...she thinks they are gouging but can't do anything about it..... How is it the government wants to put it's fingers in everything else ( cable tv, steroids in baseball, phone service) but when it comes to something our economy depends on, it's hands off??? like some sacred cow.... I don't get it..

Even the cost of crude oil that hasn't been sold yet affects the already refined oil. Take your 2.55 and enjoy it....we havent seen prices that "low" around here in probably a month or so. Not to mention our gas here is reformulated and we get on average 5 mpg less than you will.

Katrina shouldnt be a problem for causing gas prices to go up, all those flooded cars and trucks dont use any gas anymore, so there should be plenty for the rest of us.

Vipzach

All the high priced countries have Socialist governments. The extra money goes to pay for their 7 weeks of vacation, free health care, etc.

I wrote freeze gas price and get blasted. This thread actually addresses what I was trying to get across. Thanks Ladyfish, it is all about price gouging.
