Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Here is one, He has to sell it for "Medical Bills" for his special needs daughter. But then says "He will trade for guns". Also the line in there that says, he has a signed title in hand, which means, he probably bought it, and never titled it in his name, probably signed by PO?78 IMP Cuddy cabin 23'

Playing the charity card and then offering to trade for gunS (plural) on a $1700 boat is pretty weak.

A signed title is probably legit though. Talking to a notary one time, she called that an "open title" and said never to it because whoever gets their hands on the title owns the boat/trailer/vehicle. Also makes you wonder why he spent the money on a boat in the first place when he needs cash to take care of his daughter.

That will buff out ;). I wonder what the story is behind it.

Same here. Why would anyone even store that thing at their house in the first place? Maybe it's been sitting there for decades. :dontknow:

Well guys... I just can't help myself. It's located down the road from my house. I am gonna have to check it out and get the story. My guess is that the home owner bought the house as a repo/bankruptcy and got the boat. Will update here if I find something out.

I can't wait to see what you find out. It has an outdrive, so it may actually have some salvageable parts.

70hp pleasure boat

or, this is what my boat would look like if it were a stock photo.

boatstockphoto.jpg

70 hp pleasure boat seats 6, 2 seats in bow up front 2 back to back seats in rear that fold to lay down. Seats replaced with preasure treated no tears in vinyl. Good floors, runs great, sweet older boat. 1978 chrysler outboard has new impeller and thermostat, plugs and wires. Just tuned up. Has trailer and papers. Make me a reasonable offer, perfect for fishing or cruising at 25 mph... No trades, this is not my boat pictured, no pics of mine but its actually nicer and the engine cover was just painted the original way it was so the boat looks very sharp in the water. Pic is just an example.

Man, finally, all this time & FINALLY a red boat. It's just what I've always wanted:
needs to go
needs to go - $300 (Hermitage pa)

Got this red boat this summer and i thought i would use it alot and i dont. The boat does need some work but the boat does run. The trailer needs new lights or new bulbs. The boat has 4 seats 2 batterys and alot more stuff. The engine runs but only gos about 15 mph and over heats i bout this boat because i thought id use it but i just dont have the time for it. Need it gone it takes up alot of space Trailer and boat has titles.. 300$ or best offer. im trade interested in a trailer or anything fun.

Thank goodness it's a red boat. The motor probably would have caught fire on a blue boat.......

I wonder if the seller would trade me even for a FUN blue boat :D
