I like the typical part of the ad where he states "Great boat but lost my job" & " I have a baby coming " and then add at the end " What do you have to trade? Im looking for a chevy 400 small block, old s10 broke down, old chevys. Might trade for whatever let me know what ya got?"
It is the typical pull on the heartstrings and then states he would also maybe like some other toys in trade!!!

ya, he should be asking for diapers and baby gear.

The guy is a BS'r but I do like that tri hull. It would have to be stripped down and redone.

Bass Fishing Boat

This one counts as TLC, as its in the ad, but for $175 it might be worth it if there's paperwork.

Any of you tinny guys know what it is?

That is a Lone *Star, looks like a Gator trailer also. If it were close to me it wouldn't be listed anymore. That is a deal.

The trailer is worth the asking price actually does apply to this Ad.

Yah I'm thinking 15ish maybe 16' when I see that tub. Not sure I would call it a bass boat though.

CL sellers w/ email only replies drive me nuts.:mad-new: Hope you hear back from them.

Maybe a 16' Skipper with added accessory glass? Looks like there might be a tag in front of the controls.

Maybe if he sells it he will get sum spelling lessons, even if it's threw the mail. ;)

Well, it's all how you look at it. My Lund is definitely not a "bass boat" per se, but I mostly fish for bass from it.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

When we were looking for our new to us boat I found a Sea Ray 20' bowrider to look at with a 5.7l Merc. From the pictures it looked pretty nice. We went to inspect it. The first bad sign was the skeg was broken off the Merc outdrive. Walking on the floor I could tell it was rotten, probably stringers too. The sink and sprayer didn't work. The speaker cones where falling out. The interior was trashed. It was sitting on a trailer meant for an inboard boat and it was much longer than the boat. My wife liked it but I was not looking for a project boat especially at his price. I did offer $2500 just to see if he would take it. He had it listed for $6500 which is about NADA for a good to excellent model. The last time I saw it listed he had it at $4500.

Gotta give him credit for an interesting adaptation. Looking at the last pic in his ad, why do people think a few tree branches and leaves enhance the appearance of a boat interior? More outdoorsy?

No kidding but what I really like about this boat are the seats the dood stole from his parents basement, they appear to be 1975 bar stools.

checkmate speed boat/fishing

I say "no" on the seats...while I agree they look as if they're from a bar in the Midwest in the 70's, they are time correct for a late 70's-early 80's Checkmate!

Here is one, He has to sell it for "Medical Bills" for his special needs daughter. But then says "He will trade for guns". Also the line in there that says, he has a signed title in hand, which means, he probably bought it, and never titled it in his name, probably signed by PO?78 IMP Cuddy cabin 23'

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

So what we have is a boat with rotten stringers covered by a new floor. It is powered with a new prop on a junk motor. over 3 1/2 decades old and not well taken care of for part of that time.
Pretty much. And he is still asking the going rate for a decent one.
