Re: Gotta love those Craigslisters

this one tickled me this morning.... I thought it said 100 after looking.....http://houston.craigslist.org/boa/2195406812.html

Notice the hard part is done:eek:

"Glasstron" Nice!! The sad part is you can clearly see how Glastron is spelled on the side of the boat in the pics!! FAIL

Also check out the astroturn covering the dash!! lol BTW...I'm sure those stringers don't need any work at all since "all it needs is a floor"! Some people shoudn't be allowed to have boats!

That Glastron is in worse shape than mine when I got it! And I paid too much for mine @ $299!

I know a lot of people make fun of some things people post on craigslist, but I have always found great deals.

Look at this, I'm waiting to hear back from the owner. I may go look at it. I've been trying to find a trailer just like that, and the best I can do is about $1400 for a trailer alone. If I can get this thing for $1000, I may take it.

Steve I think that's a great idea. You could part that boat out or sell it as-is and come out with a real nice trailer for pennies.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Went to look at a used evinrude 40hp with controls. The guy was younger and the more questions I asked (before getting there) the cheaper it got. I was beginning to think that I was going to get a "steal" from a young guy that needed money. He even drove 40 minutes so that I only had to drive 10. The motor was rough looking from the outside and the more I looked at it the worse it got. All the shock mounts were bad. Lower unit oil looked like a milkshake. The carb was in a box. The controls were in a bucket. He did not know where the key was. The spark plugs, wires, starter, nuts, bolts, washers (to various things) were all in a box. The control cables were kinked, corroded, and frozen. The hood was cracked...BAD! The block had peeling paint (possible overheat) and corrosion. I had him down to $150 before I got there. I told him I couldn't see giving him more than $50 bucks. He asked if he got it running would I give him more......I said "you bet ya." Found and bought a different motor a week later.

Wow a boat b que..... Is it a 350 or a 454? "mercruiser 350 454" Austin is a weird town so the seller is likely a burnt out hippie who got stoned and set his boat on fire:facepalm:

x2...I can't stand Austin and all the hippies...Gig 'Em! I've actually seen that boat at Tahoe Boats on 290
