My best offer-- he gives me $1500 to haul it to the dump.

A recurring theme in most of these adds fascinates me - why do they leave all the trash and leaves in the boats when they take the pictures? Is that supposed to make it look like a better deal?

2 sea doos on nice trailer

All kinds of wrong in this ad....

two HONDA SeaDoos
Aluminum trailer

Who wants a couple of projects?
I believe the trailer is aluminum. In one of the pictures you can see they are extruded tubes. But Hondas they are not. There have been two recent ads from Tennessee lately. Kinda making us look bad here.

At least the grass/weeds are growing under and around them and not in/on them............ yet.

Agreed. I just don't get it. I saw one that keeps coming up and the boat is filled with 3" of water over the floor and otherwise completely trashed.
The other funny one is a piece of crap with a blown motor, crappy interior, no trailer and their asking only $500.

it isn't hard to believe how some people price their boats( and anything they may sell). with the really crappy boats , it reflects their economic status mostly. To the poorer people each possession represents a large part of their worth. Even if in reality it is small to the rest of society. And to let it go with out some form of compensation is hard. Which always leads me to feel somewhat sorry for these people, more than humiliate them. This is definitely different than the seller who may even have a perfect boat, but who just loves it soooo much he prices it way out of its true value. Like a guy with a 25 year old low end 20 ft cuddy, in very well kept condition with a 25 year old I\O, and a decent 25 year old trailer, with 25 year old dry rotted tires. The motor hasn't run in 3 years...and he wants $7,000!! he doesn't need $7,000, he just has no clue!!

On closer inspection you may be right about the aluminum.

I think it's covered with Phoenix dust storm grunge. A hose off would help, even for a part out.
This bring up another point. Do these sellers not realize a clean or cleaner boat may be worth more. Or at least more appealing than one with either grass around it so tall you cant see it, or a boat that has to have the tree removed from inside it before hauling away?

This one has been being run pretty regularly for a few months on my local Craigslist:
42-FOOT HOUSE BOAT NEEDS WORK

"Needs work" may be a slight understatement. For only $500 too!

I hope they don't! I flip boats as a hobby, if they are to lazy to spend 5-10 bucks at the car wash cleaning it up I'll gladly knock 100 bucks off the price to do it for them.
