Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Maybe the forum needs a section modeled after the auto parts store TV commercials of "Don't be THAT guy!" when forum members list their boat on Craigslist, Ebay, etc.? I live-work in the Baltimore-York, PA area & have a 1964 Aqua Swan 14 foot semi-V aluminum that I'm getting ready to list but really don't know how to list it properly. Even help with how to list it to help avoid the 'ridiculously low price offers from the tire-kicker types of buyers'. Or, is there a spot on the forum where a prospective ad & pics can be ran by the veterans here to get some constructive input or advice before posting it?
Welcome to iboats!

You can list your boat right here on iboats. Or you can just browse through the ads to get an idea of what to include.

Checked out the iboats & it does look like a prime place. The fee seems very reasonable, but is too little heavy only relative to the price I'm selling it for. Otherwise, this is probably the best place on the net to list for the most visibility if the selling price is at least 500-700 or higher. Appreciate the suggestion & good to know for 'future reference' (aka., the next time I sell my boat for another 'upgrade' in size & features that costs enough money and takes up enough space to really **** off the wife.

Speaking of which.....A thread with the one-liners given to spouses/girlfriends that actually worked from the more experienced mariners who have quite a few "upgrades" under their belt would be very helpful. I'm sure someone has actually found one or two that actually worked.

I think I'd pay for the 6 chicks over the Aristocraft.

Aside from "Needs TLC", this line is usually a winner in CL ads: Our loss is YOUR GAIN!

Yeah! They lose a headache and you gain one!

1986 Bayliner w/Trailer - $1025 (lincoln, de)

We got this boat as a PROJECT BOAT and found that we didn't have the time to follow up on our plans.

It is a 1986, 21 ft Bayliner that comes with the Calkins trailer that it is on. Both the boat and trailer
have working Maryland titles to make registration easy.

The engine is a Volvo-Penta 8 cylinder but it has not run this year. The engine (if only for parts) and the trailer are worth my asking price by
themselves. The out drive needs work and I do not know enough about boats to be able to tell you how much work it does need.

Get it now and make it 'water ready' by next Spring.

Our loss is YOUR GAIN!

Re: Craigslist add

A "not so big" boat that needs "some computer or something like that" sounds like a real bargain to me.

Thats the open top cabin.
