Re: Funny Ramp Stories/ Boat Ramp Watching
We were coming in to load our boat as I was approaching the docks I noticed a bunch of people around a early 90 searay i/o. The bow of the boat was way above the bed of the tow truck. As I got closer I noticed the stern of the boat underwater up to the back seat. I pulled up to the loading and unloading dock and got my wife and kids off then I beached my pontoon to see if I could help. The boat was sitting on the trailer but the bow was a good foot over the tailgate of the truck sticking and straight up. The guy in the boat was raising and lowering the outdrive and the trailer was raising up and down at the same time. Some how when the guy was loading his boat and I assume he must have gave it hell on the power loading that it shot up and over the bow roller and when the boat came back down his outdrive dropped in front of the last support rail on his trailer. After about 30 minutes of pushing and pulling we came up with the idea of backing the truck into the water up to the door while a big 4x4 was attached to him and I used my boat to swing the bow back towards the lake. We got it off that way, one of his trailer bunks was busted and his prop was nothing more but scrap. After 20 minuted of dry land his boat was still draining. He was pee-oed but his wife was furious. LOL.
