Re: Fm161 1985

I'm still kicking guys! Had a rough couple weeks. My son lost his truck to a freight train a couple weeks ago. He's fine but, the truck.....not so much. He got his new one Monday so, I get mine back!
Got some stuff done on the boat, I'll try to get some pix up soon.
StreetG, your boat is coming along nicely, And Waterman, yours looks fantastic! Gotta get going on mine! plan to launch a week from Sat.

Glad everything is good with your boy, that's scary stuff there. Looking forward to seeing your progress and thanks for taking a look over at my SN thread.

Train,

It has been a real pleasure watching you take this boat to this stage. I guess every restoration has it's bumps and you have had a share but way to perservere and produce this quality "Fishing Machine".

Thanks.

Another fine sea nymph rolls off the line. Between jas, waterman, and now you, I am starting to feel like a real slouch... Super job... You should be proud.

Re: Fm161 1985

Thanks guys! Seems like its never gonna end!
I saw some pix of an old Nymph with the logo on the back of the seats. I even looked for n.o.s. seats. Obviously to no avail........
My buddy makes commercial awnings and they do appliques all the time. I took a pic of the logo on the console and, his graphix guy downsized it, matched color, and made decals for me. My seats have very deep grain in the vinyl so, he gave me a very short, very stiff brush to force the vinyl into the vinyl.

And by the way guys, I wanted new seat mounts, etc. I got on Springfield's website, to decide what kind to get. I saw a scratch and dent area. Bought stainless 7x7 bases, posts, and seat mounts for 26 dollars per set. I can't find the blemish! Something to consider..........

Very nice detail work there train and a great find on the pedestals, some places sell complete sets of those for around $100.

Re: Fm161 1985

Actually............Yes.
Splashed yesterday. Cold, windy, rainy. But, I could not be more pleased with the boat!
Drafts about 5 inches higher in the stern, even with the new rear deck, additional battery, etc.
The boat never really wanted to get up and go last year. Now, with three people on board, it gets on plane very quickly. I was amazed.
this is a 35 hp boat!
Fished a little today and, love the setup so far. I'll keep you guys posted!
