Trainman, thanks for the catalog....very nice.

PMC made the observation about the models they used for the photo shoot, but after reviewing maybe we should have all picked up the model SS-150.

The SS150 definitely was the way to go it apears! As far as work space, I do have a nice big work area. I planned on finishing the inside of the new shop this winter but, once I got the heating system fired up, I started on the boat! didn't plan on doing this much to it but, that happens. I'm raising the rear deck behind the driver's seat. Welded aluminum tube frame should be done tomorrow. I hope. Oops, I mean pilot's seat

The upper deck frame welding is done. turned out really well. 2" and 1x2" aluminum tube

Industrial and light weight, very nice. Someday like to learn how to tig or use the mig to weld alum.

Got my marine plywood today Pretty nice stuff. The new transom is gued, clamped, and drying.
Kinda wondering why nobody seems to use gluvit to seal the transom wood?

Wow, tough crowd! I think I'm gonna like it here! Thanks for the "warm" welcome.
The pix with the lazyboy have me rethinking my boat seating! Im gonna try to post this brochure in its entirety. Its dated 1983 and includes pix and specs of the entire SN line. Jas, theres a great pic of your ss that you are gonna like.

1: A Qt of Gluvit (Qt: $50+/- ON SALE @ Iboats, Gal: $130+/-) costs almost as much as a gallon of epoxy (medium speed @US Comp: $71/gal)

2: 'Normal' epoxy uses a slow/medium/fast hardener. Someone who's used Gluvit may chime in, but I've never heard anyone talk about fine tuning the Gluvit hardener to slow/medium/fast, just that it often takes 72hrs+/- to cure....

I thought maybe it was because of the expense. I was just curious if there was some downside I wasn't aware of.

Thanks guys. I wish I could take credit for the framework but, a friend of mine made it. Actually he had his guys make it.
I give him a drawing and, in a week or so....... And the best part, no charge! Needless to say I have a couple more drawings in the works!

I am indeed by Valpo. I get up your way every year unfortunately, not untill August. I'll be lucky to be done with the Nymph by then!

Well, got the new plywood (which is quite nice), and got it glued up. Slightly too thick. Gonna have to plane it unfortunately.

Afer the wire wheel, many pinholes! Not sure what to do about this. Have some ideas but, would be happy to have some input..........

On a more pleasant note; I bought a new switch panel to replace the original broken one. Just wasn't pleased with the look so, heres what I ended up with.

Skim the inside of your transom skin with JB weld or a marine epoxy to fill the pitting.

Yeah, pretty much standard procedure for that type problem.

Painting that after you skim it will prevent any future pitting, the pitting is caused by trapped water between the wood and aluminum... it's called galvanic corrosion.

As I'm thinking ahead on this project I realize that now my fuel tank will be under the rear casting deck. does this mean I need a tank designed for below deck installation? I currently only have portables which are plenty big for my needs.
