not a fan of fake book but it sounds a lot like THT , except many of the people there on that forum google first then post the search results to big note themselves ,not a lot of hands on experience on that forum.

both facetube and youbook have the same amount of misinformation.

I try steering folks to old truck forums that I am on or hot rod forums or iBoats. however they would rather find a youtube video than get a manual.

I've gone to Youtube for help and found it. But you need to have some subject knowledge so you can sift out the junk.
Most recent was applying knock down drywall texture. "The Kilted Guy" was a little weird, but his process was solid.
Also home appliance repair vids aren't bad. Often there is a factory tech doing the demonstration. ....again basic skills/knowledge and tools are a must.

the issue is a lot of people have been taught wrong over the years and lets be honest boats are a weird animal several ways to skin a cat but usually one good one and that's what we try to enforce on these forums is what we found to have worked well .

The closest thing I get to any social media is I boats. I also have a groupme dedicated for my sons scout activities. I think social media is the death to morality in modern times

Agree 100% with most all. I do some shopping on there and it's not bad especially if its local.
The referenced forums are defensive, non-responsive, very short shelf life for any formal discussion. Best of all....total bunch of idiots.
I think I covered it. @zool only a couple times hehehehe me too, me, imagine that.

I dunno, I guess it's like a drug for a lot of people. An addiction.
If most would just not use FB, tic-tock or Twitter, maybe each of them would become less relevant.
It will never happen though because most people are just sheep.

yeah but in my defense, i cant help that fact checkers don't realize history is important last thing i got suspended for was saying Hitler was part of Volkswagen's origins about 2 months ago lol
I guess Allysa Milano didn't read your post. Otherwise she wouldnt have sold her Tesla to get a VW to get away from hatred and racism Elon now apparently reflects

Well it's been turning that way for the last several years. The number of people I've unfriended or outright blocked has been on the rise. Sometimes there's just no point continuing to have them in your feed. Same goes for some of the groups.

Maybe I'm getting old but I'm starting to report more posts on Faceplant :)

Ohh and Micky...Volkswagen...People's Vehicle. WWII. Mass produced and cheap for common people to purchase. Started under De Furer... **History major :)
