This REALLY sucks. :mad-new:

My wife got a call from her supervisor a little while ago, saying that the school is reopening tomorrow and that she has to report to work in the morning as normal. No explanation was given as the supervisor was "pressed for time" because other teachers needed to be notified.

We officially are virtual "learning" for the first half of the year. Adults can't adult, of course kids can't be expected to be anything but kids. It's galling that all of this testing and PPE is being wasted on politicians and sports leagues. If it's good enoug for them, it should be good enough for our kids.

Hopefully just a reg cold .. Working where I do ,not taking any chances .
I have to say ,the place I took the test really have their act together.. The amount of cars they process everyday is
impressive! Big thanks to all of people working the test sights !

Got my fingers crossed for you and anyone taking a test. How long did the 1st test result take, Sam? Aren't you in one of the "new" hot spots?

Just saw this and it makes me mad!
Timeframe for covid test results:

NBA players -- 24 hrs or less
Avg Americans -- 7+ days
7 days is the optimistic view, many are waiting much longer!

It took about 3 days last time when I had surgery to get results . A lot faster turn around where I took it today . I should know sometime today or tonight .. I will get an email notification . Then I will let my reg doctor know .. I'm not concerned for myself ,I just don't want to spread it if I do have it .. It used to be a cold was a cold ... Now a cold is something you have to look at a lot differently .

Thanks guys , yes the Admiral was very relieved and so was the job sight superintendent. We have an AHCA 100% inspection coming up in a few weeks .. A shut down would not have been good ..

Sam it sounds like great news. And I hope you stay that way. Hard to do these days with so many situations that are hard to protect against while doing your job.

We found out about a week ago or more now that my wife's hairdresser tested positive for Corona. And that was the day after my wife finally got her hair done from waiting all those months. However she was wearing a face mask, and it is almost two weeks now and the wifey isn't showing any possible symptoms. So we elected to stay home and wait it out. I don't think she was infected, but two weeks stay at home should verify that... Monday will confirm it either way...

That sucks! What kind of school do she teach? I would have figured all are out for the summer. Rumour is our kids kids are going to be online for Junior High, in person for younger kids spread out into the high school as well. Gov providing Chrome Books for older kids. Not sure how that all will work. Can't imagine trying to get a bunch of 5 and 6 yr olds to social distance, sounds like a losing battle!

She works at a government funded pre-school which is open year round.

We're planning on enrolling "the boy" in online school this weekend so that he's "ready to start high school" on Aug 10th.

Schools around where I live are offering either E-Schooling, or in school options. Thus far 600 opted for E-School while 14,000 decided to go to school. They just finished building a brand new Primary school (I think 3rd to 7th grades) less then a mile and a half from our home. Nice looking school too. can't believe they built it in one year either!

Either way you look at it, its going to be challenging. Nobody will ever say 2020 was uneventful! Thankfully kids seem mostly not effected too bad. I'm thinking there will be a vaccine by Christmas, fingers crossed......

Yeah, but the teachers and all family members are affected. Haven't heard anything about a plan to actually make sure the vaccine gets deployed. Even if a vaccine succeeds, we don't have production capacity to manufacture it.

There are labs preparing now, internationally, to produce. It doesn't take much of a sample both in time and volume to produce.

My concern is the safety and efficacy in a rush to produce. I believe given the effort behind this globally it will come sooner rather than later, but still probably won't be first in line to get a shot.

Hope so. Basing this on how the production and availability of testing materials has gone
